Chapter 8

Both Alexander and I walked through the revolving doors and into his companies building. My mouth was open ajar as I took in the glorious details. In all honesty, I found this building alot more alluring then Marcus'. While Marcus' one was pearly white and cliché, Alexanders building was more dark and mysterious. Even the walls were made of black leather. After our little discussion at the restaurant, we agreed to come down here and try to figure out who Marcus' inside man was. We walked passed and the receptionist gave us a wide smile. "Evening Mr Celeste, ma'am." I couldn't help but return her smile. She seemed a lot more polite than the other receptionist I had met only hours ago. This one had fiery red hair and big square glasses that gave her a friendly, yet professional look. "Evening Joanne," Alexander replied back giving her a curt nod. At least he had the decency to acknowledge her. Unlike some others. We arrived at a door which Alexander pulled open. I peered inside and was greeted by a staircase that led downstairs. "Oh," I inquired amused, "No fancy elevators?" I said with a small grin as I glanced up at Alexander. Alexander meerly gestured me in. I began decending down the stairs, my red heels slapping onto the concrete. "Well Ms Strikings. We are taking the back entry," he said with a light tone as he closed the door behind us and trailed closely behind me. We took a left turn and I was greeted with what looked like an underground lab. Though, instead of beakers and chemical tubes, there were computers with digits speeding across the scene. Papers scattered lazily around the floor and chairs were lying around admissibly. "This way," Alexander bellowed as he placed his hand on the small of my back. My heart skipped a beat and I felt colour rushed to my cheeks as the warmth of his hand made me nervous. For some reason I felt like my old self, Samantha, around him. We took a sharp turn and three men sat around laughing as they typed behind desks. "Mr Celeste!" a man greeted as he stood up. The others respectfully nodded and their chatter disappeared. "Boys, make Victoria here feel welcome. Shes from.. Williams industries," Alexander said in a clipped tone as he gave me a small smile. The three men in the room looked at me in disgust. I couldn't blame them. They thought I was one of Marcus' workers. Which, technically I was. Not willingly, I thought grimly. "She is merely here to expand her knowledge on finance. Also my friend," he said with a pause, "-I trust you'll help her." "Of course sir," a man with dark brown hair said with a tight smile. Alexander leaned down and his mouth hovered close to my ear. "I'll leave it to you," he said in a husky tone and I couldn't help but shiver. I simply nodded and Alexander moved back. Giving me one last glance he left. I looked at the three men who were staring at me shamelessly. I cleared my throat and put on a bright smile. "Well hello boys. Anyone willing to help?" I asked batting my eyelashes. "Nothing personal love, but a worker of Marcus' isn't welcome here," the man who looked oldest said as he gave me a small smile. "That's fine. I understand." The other man also agreed and walked over to the same desk to grab some papers. I glanced over at the last man who looked at me with a full blown smirk. He gestured me over and I gave him a toothy smile. "A friend of Marcus?" he asked in a low whisper. "You could say that," I said with a small wink. Well this was just plain easy. "Here, let me show you to the server room," the light haired man said as he motioned me over. We entered a small room that was away from the other two men. I stepped incredibly closer to the man and he seemed taken aback. "I didn't get your name?" I whispered as I tilted my head to the side in question. "R-Robert," he stuttered, obviously affected by the very little amount of space between us. "Tell me, are you also a friend of Marcus'?" I asked biting my lip as Robert took in a sharp intake of breath. "What? no," he said far too quickly. Bingo. "I mean I've heard of him, but I never spoken to him before," Robert said with a forced smiled. "Thats a shame," I whispered in a flirty tone. "I was looking forward to having someone else on the inside with me," I sighed trailing a finger down his chest, mocking disappointment. "I thought he wasn't allowing anyone else?" Robert muttered more to himself. I raised my eyebrows at him and Robert realized his mistake. He cussed under his breath and gave me an uneasy smile. "I-I mean, I-" he stuttered and I placed my finger onto his lips silencing him. "Hush. Its fine Robert," I purred his name making him shiver under my finger tips. "We're on the same side here." Yeah right. "He didn't tell me he was sending in another," Robert chimed in confused as he looked at me a little suspiciously. I pushed him into the wall behind him and pressed my body to his making his breath hitch. "You know Mr Williams. He doesn't like too many people knowing of his plans," I replied with a shrug trying to make sure he doesn't get suspicious. Roberts gaze fell onto my lips and traveled a little lower, his face flushing a deep red. "You're r-right," he stammered nervously. I gave him a sweet smile as I leaned down, my lips near his ear. "Tell me, who else is working with us?" I whispered in a husky tone, nipping his ear. Robert let out a small groan and I tried to not smile in truimph. Men. They're all the same. "I can't say," Robert whispered back as he turned us around and slammed me into the wall. He attacked my neck and I pushed him back making him stumble as he looked at me in surprise. Tone down the strength Victoria. You're playing the cheap hooker role. "Not just yet. I like to know who I'm working with," I purred, stalking towards him, making him shudder. "Two others. Shane and Lydia, thats all," Robert rushed out impatiently as he grasped my hips, pulling my towards him. He had light hair and light eyes. He appeared to be a few years older than me and not very attractive. Nothing compared to Alexander. Oh dear Victoria. Why are you comparing him to Alexander? "Wait," I snapped as I placed my hands on his chest, "I'd like it if Marcus didn't know that you told me these things," I said batting my lashes. The last thing I needed was him blabbing to Marcus. Robert came to a halt and stared at me suspiciously. "Why not?" "Marcus doesn't like to share. His the jealous type. And if you told him about our little encounter.." I trailed of and a flash of terror passed through Roberts eyes as he nodded his head furiously. "Of course!" he whispered, probably scared of the consequences. "Robert!" a voice yelled from near. Robert jumped away from me and spun around, pretending to look for papers. I simply smirked and rolled my eyes at him. A different man appeared through the door and I raised an eyebrow at the familiar blonde. "What is it sir?" Robert asked as he pretended to find the piece of paper he was looking for. "The men need your help with the digits," the blonde said and Robert nodded, not sparing me a glance as he hurriedly left. The blondes eyes fell on mine and his eyes lit up in amusement. "Marcus' little friend. Victoria wasn't it?" he asked with a small grin "Quinton was it?" I said with my own smile and he nodded. I remembered him from the night of the event and how he had angered Marcus. "Alexander asked me to fetch you. Come," he said in a more serious tone. I nodded my head and followed him. We left the room and went up the familiar staircase. Taking a few turns, Quinton knocked on a door and we entered what looked like an office. Alexander sat behind a desk and he straightened up when he saw us. "Victoria. Did you find out who it is?" he asked and I glanced at Quinton, unsure. "You can trust him. He despises Marcus as much as we do," Alexander reasurred and I stiffly nodded. "You put on quite a show," Quinton smirked and I returned it. I knew he was referring to the night of the event. "There's three of them. Robert, Shane and Lydia." "May I ask, but, how did you find this out so easily?" Quinton asked in awe and I opened my mouth to speak but Alexander bet me to it. "Let me tell you. And I quote, its the art of seduction," Alexander said in a low tone and I couldn't help but shiver. He looked straight at me when he said that and his eyes turned a shade darker. "A womans body can do wonders," I muttered and looked Alexander straight in the eye as he raised an eyebrow. "Williams Industries won't know what hit them," Quinton grinned as he rubbed his hands together. The game was now even. It was three on three.
