The Pope was seated at the head of the long table when Cardinal Augustus Dimoutsos walked into the large conference room at the east wing of the Palace of the Holy Office. Seated around the large oak table were other highly placed cardinals from all over the world, familiar with the issue at hand. Augustus hid his surprise at the sight of the Archbishop of Canterbury, the leader of the British Anglican church also seated next to the Pope at the big table. He marched, without breaking his stride upon entering the room, to the Holy Father and kissed his hand before acknowledging every other person in the room, then went to occupy the only vacant chair in the room.
