Chapter 9

566 Words
Adam I got to school the next day and was thinking about the stuff I need to talk to Keira about. She is going to be at my house for 2 weeks. I need to talk to her, the sooner the better. “Hey Adam, what’s up?” Colt says to me as he sees me entering the school. “Not much, have you seen Kevin or Keira yet?” I ask him. “Nah, don’t think they come in yet. Why do you want to know?” Colt asks me. Man, this guy is starting to get on my nerves already. If it was up to me, I would not even have him on the soccer team but his dad is a huge booster for the school, so we are stuck with him. “Look, I don’t have a lot of time this morning, do me a favor if you see Keira, tell her I need to talk after first-period class. It is important, ok.” I told him. “Yeah, sure buddy, I will tell her,” Colt tells me with a smirk. God, what is he planning to do? I know Kevin and I tease and pull pranks on Keira. But Colt is a little more vicious in his pranks and teases. After first period, I better find her quick to talk to her. I don’t trust Colt. —— Keira The bell rings, as the teacher was telling everyone that first period is over and time for second period. As I walked out of class and was walking down to my second-period class when I saw him. There was Adam standing there by the classroom. “We need to talk,” Adam says as he grabs my elbow and leads me into an empty classroom nearby. “What are you doing? What could we possibly need to talk about?” I gasp out. “Look, I know tonight you are spending the night,” Adam starts to say. “It is more than spending the night, Adam.” I huff out. “If you let me finish, I know it is more than spending the night. I know I’m babysitting you for two weeks.” He says. “Babysitting?” I ask him. “What would you call it? Anyway, just so you know and I’m clear, you will not be seen coming or going to school with me. I don’t want anyone to see you anywhere near me for the next two weeks. I don’t need you ruining my status here because your mother had nowhere else to put you for her business trip.” He tells me point-blank. Tears started to build up inside me. I am trying my best to fight them down. I looked at Adam and said, “No worries, I just want these few weeks to go by quickly, the last thing I want is to be seen with you.” “Good, we are in agreement then. Oh and by the way, since you are going to be in my house, guess you have no excuse to help me with my paper now.” He smirks and turns and walks out the door. I stand there looking down at the floor. I think he just used me to get his paper done. I take a deep breath to compose myself and walk to my class.
