I clutched Ryan tighter as he carried me in the hospital. My brother called ahead and made sure my doctor would be here. He walked in ahead of us to a group of nurses.
"Dr. Lux we have a gurney for her over here", a nurse said directing Ryan to place me down. My pressure was taken again they moved the machine too quickly for me to see but a bleakness came to Ryan's face at the numbers.
A fetal monitor was attached and the racing heartbeats of the twins greeted us. I hadn't felt them moving and I was terrified.
"Lets get mommy an ultrasound in her room. Dr. Joiner is 20 minutes away. We have her preliminary orders" another nurse said to my brother. He nodded at her. I smiled as she gave him an affectionate look.
