Part 8

Ian was likely drifting slowly through a warm fog, not sure which way is out but not really caring, either, floating mindlessly. He felt his fingers stroking something warm, bare skin over and over again. He slowly blinked his eyes open only to stare at the person in front of him, rather under him. The omega is fast asleep; her hands wrenched to the side in an awkward position. The Alpha was stroking her warm, bare skin repeatedly, fingers nudged up underneath the hem of her shirt, touching her belly. Why was she in his bed? What was happening? He looked over, feeling the twinge in his neck at the sudden movement. Was she sleeping by his side the entire time? He had so many questions. The Alpha had no desire whatsoever to move, enjoying the hands full of warm, sleepy omega. He blinked, noticing the binds across her wrist and he wanted to unlock them. His inner Alpha was begging to ease Railyn into his lap, fill her up with his c**k before she is even fully awake. “s**t!” Ian murmured under his breath; his voice caught up. He slowly eased his hands the omegas body, already missing the warmth of her scent and skin. She made a soft, sleepy noise that goes directly to his c**k in the worst possible way, trying to tug his arms back again. The urge to help her, soothe her soft skin, was almost overwhelming. As she turned around it, he opened his eyes. He woke up. Ian sat up, his chest rising and falling. He roamed his eyes around only to realise he was in his room. All alone. The Alpha angrily yanked at his locks. What was happening to him? Why can’t he stop dreaming about her? His Alpha never acted that way before. It felt like yearning. But he encountered countless omegas before, but nothing made him feel that way. What was so special about her? Maybe the fact that she was his mate was something he should consider. Only a few hours though because by lunch she will be long gone. That was enough motivation for him to get out of the bed and start his day. *** Ian had to send her off. He felt a weird clench in his chest, which he ignored, pining it over missing his morning coffee. Besides, he had urgent matters to attend other than worrying about the omega locked up in their metal room. The hotelier was so engrossed and distracted by the antics of his-erm the strange omega that he completely forgot that he had business to run. Jared was still searching for a suitable secretary while filling the place as a temp and doing his patrolling duty. His beta did not go back to the packhouse for a week, overworking himself for Alan’s stupid mistake. Ian felt terrible for him, especially that his beta had a mate he was courting. As he was passing by the hallway, he heard that voice. Sharp and demanding. “Don’t tie me up again.” It took him few steps to reach the metal door room where he noticed Railyn argue with his beta, Alan. He felt sorry for his beta. No one can win against her. Not his fault. “What’s going on?” Ian lazily drawled, still standing outside the room. He had no interest to step in and inhale her scent. The first was enough to last him for a lifetime. “Alpha” Alan bowed down. The omega rolled her eyes, narrowing her eyes at him. Such a brat! “Good morning Alan. Is everything ready?” Ian asked; his eyes focused on his beta. As much as he was tempted to stare at the omega, he stayed firm on his resolve. As the mafia leader, he was reported about every single thing. Without his approval, nothing moved. In order to protect their secrets and activities, Ian made sure to send the strangers in blindfold. The same went on to the people who were brought in as well. He did not want to risk them snitching about his escape and exits to the enemies. “Yes, Alpha. I’m taking Nile along with me.” Railyn wouldn’t stop making faces the entire time they were talking. He was so distracted by it even though he shouldn’t. No one managed to test him the way she does, and yet he can’t stop giving her attention. Ian nodded his head, moving his head towards the omega, “What is your problem, omega?” “I don’t want to be tied again,” Railyn demanded, crossing her arms against her chest and tilting her head up. What kind of position does she think she’s in to be giving demands? He will never know. “After that little display of yours?” He asked, digging his eyes into hers. The Alpha was worried that she would start stabbing his men if she was not bound. He had near miss with that knife incident. “You’re lucky we are not binding your legs and arms together.” “I will have your head” She muttered, her eyes fixed on him. Ian couldn’t help but enter the room. He had enough of her threats. The moment he stepped closer, he was hit with the strong scent of vanilla and peaches precisely as he dreamt! It made his jaw clench. “So you’ve said,” Ian replied, pulling at her wrist and gripping them a little tighter, feeling the fragility of her bones underneath. She didn’t even wince, daringly meeting his eyes. “I’m used to the empty threats, omega.” “It’s not a threat alright but a promise. The minute I get out of there, I will come back and stab you” Railyn spat, trying to pull her hands away from his hold but he didn’t budge. “I’ll let you bleed out slowly.” She sweetly blinked at him, fluttering her eyelashes. Ian felt Alan’s stare on both of them. He took a sharp breath before turning towards his beta, “Give me a minute.” Alan nodded his head, and without saying anything, he was mostly gone, door clicking closed behind him quietly. “Wanted to get me alone, did you, Alpha?” She rasped. The slight waver in her voice that she’s trying to hide was a dead giveaway. Railyn was affected by him just as much as he was affected by her. Is that why shes always keen on irking him and pushing him away? Suddenly, Ian was more than aware of how tightly they’re pressed together, of how long they’ve been pressed together for. He immediately let go of her wrist and took a step back all at once, and then another when that first one doesn’t give them enough space. It’s hot in the room, he could feel the wetness on his forehead. The Alpha convinced himself that it was just the temperature in the room that affected him. “Stand against the wall and look at me.” He licked his lips. His voice sounded much rougher than he had been intending it to. Seriously he needed to get it together! Railyn twisted her entire body to scowl at him, her brow raised at his command, “Excuse me?” What was wrong with him? The Alpha must be getting close to his rut. That’s the only explanation for why his brain wasn’t co-operating with his mouth. But he already had his rut like two weeks ago. “I mean stand against the wall so I can cuff your hands together. The wall behind you can help me do my job better” Ian added hastily. “No,” She flatly said, crossing her arms over her chest petulantly. The Alpha tried very hard not to grit his teeth. All in his twenty-seven years of life, no one dared talk back to him. Ian felt conflicted as he didn’t know if that should be something impressive or not. “Don’t test me, omega. I’ll make you if I have to.” “You’ll try to make me,” She corrected. Here’s the thing Ian’s known to have a pretty decent amount of patience - he has to, given his job - but he has his limits just like everyone else. The omega in front of him was testing those. He had no interest in dealing with her any longer. “Oh you will, or I won’t let you step out of here.” “You wouldn’t dare!” She huffed. “I don’t think you want to risk that, omega.” She thought about it for a while before forwarding her hands. The victory he felt at that moment was something he could never describe. He locked the cuffs and called Alan in. “Here’s the key. Get her ready,” Ian handed his beta the key before walking out of the room. As he drifted away, he felt the weird feeling sitting in the middle of his chest. A few minutes later, Ian was sitting in his office when he heard the sharp knock on his door. Alan brought the omega out of the room wrists tied together. “Done?” Alan nodded his head, “The car is waiting. Nile will drive us to the same location from where we picked her” Ian felt his shoulders slump. Ignoring that heavy feeling in his stomach, he turned towards the omega. She was nervous all of a sudden. “You’re free. That’s what you wanted, right? Well, this is your chance. Don’t look for us if you know what’s better for you.” Her expression was unreadable. She turned her head, not saying anything to which Alan dragged her away. The Alpha kept staring at her back, waiting for her to say something but only silence greeted him. Why wasn’t he happy about her leaving? *** Facebook: The Scripturient (Join “San_2045 squad”, a private group on f*******: to be the first one to know everything!) Instagram: San_2045
