"L-Leyla?" I stuttered. My vision blurred with unshed tears as she ran towards me, jumping on me with a tight hug that if it wasn't for my mates I would've fallen over with her.

"Where have you been Kitiana?" Leyla asked worried pulling away from the hug. I see her looking around and my chest tightens. I know who she's looking for. She never knew what happened to Killian or anyone in the pack because she was not allowed in unless she was with Killian. When she didn't see him, I saw the sadness and disappointment in her eyes.

"You two know each other?" Aiden asked. I unconsciously grabbed my necklace before nodding. I saw another male Lycan come towards us pulling Leyla towards him and kissing the top of her head.

"Hello, I'm Mason, Gamma of the pack and Leyla's mate", the Lycan introduced himself.

"Hello, I'm Kitiana, the Alphas mate" I smiled. I noticed everyone was watching us before cheers were heard, making me jump from where I stood. Welcomes were heard from all that are present as pups run around while their parents watch them play.

"Come on, let's eat" Aiden smiled. The whole pack introduced themselves and seemed very friendly. A young boy around five years old taps me on my shoulder.

"Hi" I smile.

"I'm Turner and these are for you" he says, handing me freshly picked flowers.

"Thank you. They are beautiful", I smiled.

"Yes, they are... just like you" he says before kissing my cheek and running off where other kids giggled and wooed at him.

"Damn the kid got game" Kaleb chuckles, making the others laugh. After hours of talking and getting to know each other, people began to excuse themselves until it was Mason, Leyla, Kaleb, his mate Jazmine, Gavin, Aiden and me. I looked up at the dark sky that was sparkling with beautiful stars.

"Kitiana" Leyla said, getting my attention.

"Where have you been these past three years? Did you all move?" she asked. My palms began to get sweaty so I had to rub them on my pants. I swallowed the lump in my throat. I looked at Mason who was laughing at something someone said.

"Does he know?" I asked her. I wanted to know if Mason knew that Killian was her mate. She nodded her head as I took a deep breath.

"Do you want him to hear what I have to say?" my voice cracked at the end and I felt two powerful presence behind me. Leyla nodded and I could see the tears in her eyes. She reached for Mason, who immediately was by her side.

"Leyla... Killian-Killian is dead" I said, followed by a painful whimper. The look of horror in her face was one that mirrored my own three years ago. I saw Mason wrap his arms around her and she let him. A few seconds passed before she looked at me.

"T-the pain I felt..." she trailed off.

"It was his death" I completed.

"How?" she croaked. I told her everything that had happened. From when we all decided to play hide and seek, to us hiding behind the waterfall in the small cave, to the screams and him ordering me to stay until he came to get me. I also told her how I left to look for him but found the whole pack, including the Alpha and Luna dead. How I found my parents and Killian. I felt Leyla looking at me and, for once, I was afraid to look at someone. I didn't want to see the hate in her eyes towards me for not helping my family and pack. I felt a hand under my chin making me look up. What I saw in her eyes knocked the air out of me.

"What happened was not your fault. Your brother loved you and protected you and he was going to do it until his last breath, which he did. We have no idea why rogues did what they did, but if I know one thing about Killian..." she touched the locket softly before looking at me straight in my eyes "... is that he would do it all over again to make sure his little sister was safe." She wiped my tears away before we both looked up at the sky.

"I like to think that he is looking down at us right now. Just like I like to think that he asked the moon goddess to please bless me with another mate. When Mason found me, he slowly put the broken pieces back together before telling me that he was my mate, though I kind of knew, but little did I know he was a Lycan. I told him about Killian and that he was my mate, the pain that I felt, but little did I know that his death was the reason for my pain", she says. There were so many emotions bubbling inside of me that I didn't know what to do. I wanted to cry, to scream... the pain of loosing my family was still raw after three years. The sound of bones breaking reached my ears, followed by a scream. My scream. I was shifting to my wolf as slowly as I could, punishing myself. I had been doing that for the past three years as my punishment for not helping my family or pack.

"Kitiana" Leyla screamed to me. My mates were beside me in a flash. I felt their hands on me.

"Shift", Gavin and Aiden demanded in unison.

"Stop punishing yourself. It was not your fault", Aiden said, and I could hear the pain in his voice for me.

"Killian wouldn't want you to punish yourself like this" I heard Leyla say. With that, I shifted completely to my wolf, letting out the most painful howl I ever could before everything went black.

Leyla explained to us how close Killian and Kitiana were. It was almost like they were twins only a year apart. Killian was very protective of his little sister. Leyla then told us the name of the pack which Aiden, Mason, and I were doing research on. Indeed, the whole pack was killed except for Kitiana. Though James, the Alpha's son, was never seen, they thought he was dead as well, but I heard Kitiana say that she saw James and that he was dead. But when the Elders got there they didn't find his body.

"I still don't understand who would kill a whole pack and why?" Mason says.

"We don't know either" I said, looking at all the research we have gathered in the past few days. Kitiana was in her room. We wanted her to be in our room, but I knew she had to mourn after that painful howl she let out the other night. In that howl she let out all her emotions which we all felt. Jazmine, Elena and Leyla have been going into Kitiana's room here and there to see how she's doing since she hasn't come out.

"No, the Alpha seemed liked by all the other packs. He helps with charities and even organised different events in his pack. The year that they were killed there was supposed to be a charity event", Aiden points out.

"It was also during the week of Kitiana's sixteenth birthday, when she was also going to get her wolf and shift for the first time. After a shift, she was to go on a run with her family and then we were going to go to the movies. Kitiana was so nervous about that because it meant she would have to be around other humans besides me", Leyla said from her chair.

"How did she act when she first met you?" Mason asked her.

"Scared though she hadn't shifted yet, she was afraid she was going to hurt me. One day after their training was over, I followed Kitiana through some woods. I knew that she knew I was following her. She didn't have her wolf, but she was very tentative about what was going on around her. It was like she was always on alert. I sat by a tree trunk and watched as she used her throwing knives, landing dead in the middle of her target. I was so intrigued that I asked her to show me, which to my surprise she agreed to" Leyla chuckled, but I could also see the sadness in her eyes.

"I'm going to go check on her" she says, getting up from her chair. When the door closed, Aiden turned towards me and I could see the pain in his eyes. He wanted our mate just like I did. But all we could do was wait. Until then, we were going to be there for her.

(Aiden)

I hated the fact that our mate was hurting still, but we knew she had to be alone. On the fourth night of her being alone, she entered our room while Gavin and I were finishing up some work. After a certain hour, Gavin and I come to his room or mine to finish up the work for the day and then watch TV before I go to my room or Gavin goes to his.

Her eyes were red and puffy from crying. I looked at the clock to see it was 2am. She looked like she had just taken a shower and also very exhausted.

"Can I sleep here?" she asked, her voice small, but we heard her. I closed my laptop and got out off the bed, picking her up bridal style and placing her between Gavin and me. I was sleeping here today. As soon as I laid down next to her, she grabbed Gavin's arm, placing it around her waist as she turned to me and placed her head on my chest. Seconds later, her breathing evened out and I knew she was asleep. Ever since that night, she has been sleeping in our room.

She also has been talking to all the pack members and getting to know them more. She plays with the pups, she helps the pregnant women around their homes. She even helps in the kitchen. She's an incredible person and the pack love her. Not just because she's our mate and Luna, but because she has a big heart and cares for everyone and sees them as family.

Today our mate was with Jazmine, Elena and Leyla at the mall. We didn't want them to be alone, so we asked Mason to go with them. While Gavin, Kaleb, some pack members and I had been working on a house for us. Suddenly, my phone rings and I see it's Leyla. We had to have some phones because we have humans in the pack, though they can only link with their mates.

"Alpha Aiden" I said, picking up the phone.

"Alpha, it's Leyla. Kitiana is in heat" she blurted out. My breath hitches in my throat. This is something I had forgotten about. Heat. I looked at my brother and I could see his eyes turning black and I knew he had heard what Leyla said.

"Where is she?" I asked.

"Mason is getting her. We ran out to get the car because of other unmated werewolves", she says, panting. I can hear the engine rev to life.

"There they are" I heard Jazmine shout.

"s**t", Leyla cursed, and it was the first time I heard her curse. I heard shuffling and a door slammed shut.

"Go, go, go" Elena shouts.

"We're on our way" Leyla says, before I hear my mate scream and the line go dead. That's when Gavin and I started heading to the pack house.
