A Usual Day

NEXT MORNING:

The 1st rays of the sun-kissed Farishta's face…. she woke up with usual hollowness in her heart, or a part of the brain as she refers it to be…..she sighed n got up to start with her daily routine which freshens up, go for jogging, taking shower & get ready for office. After making sure that her parents have everything that they needed n giving several instructions & reminding them to call her in case of any emergency she left for her office. As usual, she stopped her car in front of a small cafe on her way to the office where Chase his colleague c*m friend waits for her.

F(Farishta): Good morning Cheesssyyy

C(Chase): You….don't call me that….you witch…

F: Oh...that? No worries, I'll always call you Cheeesssssyyy. BTW Farishta means Angel, not witch okay?

C: Yeah whatever witch

With that, they both brusted into laughter.

F: So what's up with Mr. Hottie?

C: (in a fake serious voice) Ummm...I don't know the sky….? But right now the ceiling…

F: (rolling her eyes) Oh...wow...you're shooo funny….I almost laughed...Chase please...dude I'm asking about your date with Camelia

C: Well it went well...we talked…

F: &,

C: & nothing Fairy (Chase's nickname for Farishta) ...you know she's interested in me but I'm in love with a girl who will not reciprocate my feelings...so I need time….she is willing to give me time. End of the story.

F: Well 2 things...1st is wow…@least that is getting somewhere n 2nd is I'm sorry Bear.

C: It's okay...Fairy its not your fault, that you are not in love with me...we've discussed this over right? So why making it worse. I've you as my friend…. that is enough for now. Now, let's go we're getting late for work.

F: Yeah let's go...I have a meeting with the CEO @ 9:30.

C: What for?

F: No idea.

With that, they left.

Alexander's sleep was broken by the alarm of his phone. He went to the washroom n did his business. Then went to the gym...he is a fitness freak @ the age of 42 he looks like he is in his late 20s as he keeps himself fit. Then he went to have breakfast with his family. Though he despised Victoria, he loved his children very much. (He has 3 children remember? Rey the eldest son, twins...Samuel the boy n Amelia the girl) So he put his facade of being a loving husband kissed Victoria to which the twins made ewww sound… he knew that the twins acted that they didn't like it but they were very happy with the fact that their parents were very much in love with each other. He went to Amelia gave her a kiss on her forehead n patted Samuel's shoulder wishing them morning.

A(Alexander): Where's your elder brother? 

Sm(Samuel): Oh...Dad you've missed the fun… you know Rey put Adine over his shoulder n left.

Am(Amelia): It was soo romantic….oh I wish I had a bf like this.

A: Sweetheart you're not getting any bf till you're 30.

V(Victoria): I wonder where did Rey get his caveman genes from. (Which earned eye-roll from Alexander & chuckle from the twins) you know these Hades men are so possessive I tell you.

Sm: Women are precious, they are our treasures, hence we need to protect them. Right, Dad?

A: Absolutely Son.

Am: That doesn't mean you'd take away our freedom in the name of security.

A: Well not always...but desperate times need desperate measures….anyway you're not getting any bf till you're 30, end of the topic.

Am: Mom….see

V: Don't worry sweety we'll see when the time comes...for now drop the topic n enjoy.

Sm: Um Dad?

A: Yes Son?

Sm: Well can I join you & Rey in your next Dad-Son time?

A: Are you sure son? Won't you get bored with us?

Sm: Well, I think I should try….

A: Alright Son you can always join us...n you can come to me anytime you want a Dad-Son time okay?

Sm: Thanks, Dad.

Am: Daaad….

A: Yes sweetheart?

Am: Well actually I've got a request. (To which he nodded at her to continue)...you know my bestie Maria, her aunt is a tarot card reader….so I've invited her to join us this evening. She'll do reading for all of us...will you please join us?

A: I'll if it makes you happy. 

They finished their breakfast n went to their respective engagements.

CEO's OFFICE, XYZ CORPORATION, NY, USA

CEO: Goodmorning Ms. Stonnes, how are you doing? Please be seated.

F: I'm doing good Sir...thank you.

CEO: How are your parents doing?

F: They're stable for now….Sir, you wanted to see me?

CEO: (chuckling)Always on point...I like this quality of yours Farishta…..actually I wanted to ask currently what project are you working on?

F: Well Sir….I'm currently working @ Millers Steels project which….today @ 11 am I'll officially handover to the client….then if my department head assigns me any new project I'll be on it… otherwise...I'm free.

CEO: Ohk..then Farishta I want you to take over the Eritque arcus….the 1 Mr. Masons was working on.

F: But Sir…

CEO: Mr. Masons have health issues due to which, he'll be taking leave from the day after tomorrow…. n we do not know if he'll be able to join back or not….this project is very important for me as the client is my friend's son….I know I can entrust you with this responsibility….so you'll work as an Electrical Engineer for this project along with being the Project Engineer.

F: Alright Sir...I'll contact Mr. Masons after my project handover & get the details from him.

CEO: (handing her a Pendrive) Actually here are the details of this project…you study it…& as far as I know there are some issues which you need to be clarified by the client...for which you need to go to London asap.

F: Sir cant we do video meeting that will save time.

CEO: Well I understand, that you don't want to leave the stations due to your parent's conditions… But this cant be avoided as Mr. Masons already talked to the client & they insisted on meeting him in person n discuss it. So…

F: Alright Sir, not a problem….I'll go.

CEO: So best of luck with the project Ms. Stonnes I hope it'll also be handovered successfully like your other project.

F: Thank you Sir….Have a good day….

CEO: You too Ms. Stonnes.

With that, she left the CEO's office to continue with her work.

CEO's OFFICE Canary Wharf, London, UK

It was almost lunchtime... a usual day for Alexander….where he was drowned in loads of works.

A(Alexander): Adi….what's wrong? Don't you dare lie to me coz...I know you very well...now tell me what happened?

A(Adine): Rey happened?

A(Alexander): This guy? What did he do now?

A(Adine): Papa I don't want to talk about last night. Let's just say he again hurt me in the worst possible way.

A(Alexander): I need to knock some senses in this guy's head.

A(Adine): No need to do that Papa...He's not a child...he's 24 for heaven's sake.

A(Alexander): But?

A(Adine): Papa….we had a break-up….that is ok… I parted my ways with...all he has to do is stay away from my life….but no worries he'll learn this hard way.

A(Alexander): What are you going to do? 

A(Adine): For now nothing….coz my life doesn't revolve around him… not anymore….so I'll not make any decisions based on his stupid acts. Bit if there is a next time then I'll definitely show him his place.

A(Alexander): Ohk...easy there tiger.

A(Adine): I'm good Papa...n thank you...now that things are out of my system I feel so much better.

A(Alexander): Anytime Adi. Btw do I have any engagement after 7 pm?

A(Adine): Yes….you have a meeting with Mr. Davis regarding ******

A(Alexander): Can you cancel it I've to be home @ 7:30 (she looked @ him raising her eyebrows) apparently Ami invited over her best friend's family… her aunt will also join, who happens to be a tarot card reader.

A(Adine): If Rey is not there call me I want to meet her.

A(Alexander): Some said something about making her own decisions….now she can't come to her own home because He will be there.

A(Adine): Arrrgggg….fine I'll be there. Now come eat I've ordered lunch for us.

With that, they had their lunch together....& got back to work.
