DEMITRI
I walked deliberately slowly, giving her time to make her decision and either follow or not. She did not disappoint though, before I left the street she was behind me, running to catch up.
We walked side by side in silence for a few minutes. The sun had not long set, though I would have liked to have set off earlier, I was already going to be late. It was a cold, but clear night, the best weather for walking, so I was not too annoyed at walking at her pace.
"Where are we going?" She asked politely.
"Before I ran into you, I was on my way to see a friend, I see no reason to change plans. I am sure she would love to meet you".
"Another one of us?" She asked, clearly excited about the prospect of meeting someone else so soon.
"Yes, but I will let her introduce herself, she dislikes being talked about". I rubbed my side as I answered, remembering the last time I told someone about her before we got there. She hit me in the ribs with the frying pan she had been using at the time to cook salmon! Never made that mistake again. "So shall we discuss something else on the way, where were we back at the house...?"
"You were telling me how old you are..." She smirked.
"Yes.. something else then!" Age stops being a touchy subject after a few hundred years, but ugh, not something I like to discuss all the time.
"How about what happened before I woke up? I remember heading to the shops and then.. nothing" she looked confused, struggling to remember.
"We met, you lied about your expiration date, sort of agreed to come with me, I knocked you out, carried you to the hide out. You were out for nearly 2 days."
"Two days!!! Knocked me out? Is that a Vampire thing?"
"Sort of..." She looked at me questioning. I sighed "I hit you on the head with my fist. Easier than answering 300 questions on the side of the road."
