QUINN
It was nice to arrive at the house and find everything done, this was another of the few houses we had staff in. After nearly two weeks of travelling, the last thing I wanted to be doing was.. well anything at all! I collapsed into a chair in the dinning room and was extremely pleased when a glass of wine was given to me to go with dinner.
We had made good time, especially with a human and an old man slowing down the fast Vampires. It was fun though, we laughed a lot and kept each others spirits up. The most important thing is these sorts of times is friendship.
We were informed of fire messages that had arrived before us, letting us know that we would have company from tomorrow night. At least we had the rest of tonight to relax. I'd do a quick sweep before bed just to make sure everything was ready, I thought to myself. Not that I thought the staff were incompetent, but its always good to double check.
I was still making checklists in my head when Etna leant over to me, "I'm not great with wines, I really don't know much about them at all. But, does this taste right to you?"
Mine was fine, I'd almost finished it and no one else had touched theirs, it was one of my favourites. I took Etna's glass from her and held it up to my nose. Ugh!
"Ever so sorry, I announced to everyone, I shall be back in a minute," without another word, I picked up everyone's glasses and left the room.
In the kitchens I found most of the staff standing around chatting, as they had nearly finished their work.
"Sorry to intrude, but, who served the drinks tonight?" I asked loudly.
"I did, what can I help you with? I can assure you neither are cheap bottles." Said a tall blonde I vaguely remembered seeing before.
"I am not sure how well you have been trained, but not well enough I am afraid. The most important thing is to make sure everyone gets the correct glass no matter what".
There was a few gasps across the room as they began to comprehend what had happened.
"I am afraid you are fired. Please collect your final pay check and leave tonight. Thank you".
I handed the drinks to another member of staff and asked him to bring 4 new glasses and the bottles to the dinning room. I would serve the drinks myself this time.
