Four months later, things had begun to normalize at the Blood Moon packhouse. Greyson resumed all of his Beta duties and Gena was fitting in perfectly. The Luna ceremony and wedding went off without a hitch and Evie’s pregnancy was nearing its end.
In fact, with Evie becoming less and less mobile, her and Gena had been spending more time with each other, along with Lucy. The three of them were sitting in the living room of the packhouse with Evie sprawled out on the living room feeling like a bloated whale.
“How is your book coming along, Gena?” Lucy asked as she flipped through the channels on the TV.
Noah, Greyson, and Sawyer had talked Gena into writing a vampire history book. The packs weren’t informed at all on vampire history or fact, hence why Greyson knew so little about the species. They wanted the pack to be more informed in the hopes that it would bring their species together and keep the pack members from being afraid.
All in all, Blood Moon had welcomed Gena with open arms but there was still a lot of uncertainty. Noah hoped that, with this book, the pack would be less uncertain and more confident in their new packmate.
“Good. I finished the fact checking part of the book and I’m working on the history of the vampires and the realm.” Gena said,
“That’s awesome!” Lucy grinned just as Evie sat up and gasped, clutching her stomach.
“Ev?” Lucy jumped into action.
“I think….the baby….is coming.” She said between clenched teeth. Lucy and Gena could see her stomach clenching with the contractions.
“Come on, let’s get you to the infirmary.” Lucy tried to help Evie up but she wasn’t strong enough.
“You mindlink the guys, I’ll help her.” Gena said, pushing Lucy to the side.
Gena grabbed Evie’s hand and easily pulled her from the sofa.
“Put your wait on me, Evie.” Gena insisted, putting Evie’s arm around her shoulders.
Evie leaned on Gena and she was able to assist her halfway to the infirmary before Noah and Greyson showed up.
“Thank you, Gena.” Noah looked at her with a grateful expression before picking up Evie and cradling her in his arms.
Noah and Evie disappeared into the birthing suite of the infirmary and the others took their seats in the waiting room. Evie’s brother, Elijah, and his mate, Molly, who also happened to be Sawyer’s sister, joined them in the waiting room a few minutes later. Greyson pulled Gena down onto his lap, stuffing his face into her neck and breathing in deeply.
“You okay, my princess?” He asked.
“I’m fine, why wouldn't I be?” Gena said and he just shrugged.
About an hour later, Noah came out wearing a huge grin.
“Would you all like to meet our daughter?” He asked and everyone jumped up, cheering.
Greyson hugged his brother and then took Gena’s hand, leading her back to Evie’s room. Inside the birthing suite, Evie was laying on a bed covered up in a blanket. She had a bundle of pink in her arms. She smiled when everyone entered, motioning for them to come forward.
“Everyone, meet Sage Landry.” She gushed, clearly already so in love with her daughter.
“She’s perfect, sis.” Elijah smiled, kissing his sister’s forehead and then looking down at his niece.
“She really is.” Greyson said, slapping Noah on the back, “Good job, bro.”
“Hey! I did all the work.” Evie teased and the boys started laughing.
Gena’s gaze was locked on the newborn baby snuggled against her mother’s chest. She felt her heart clench with guilt and then she felt shame for feeling envious of her new sister-in-law. She immediately pushed away that feeling and replaced it with happiness, smiling as she locked eyes with Evie.
“This might sound strange, but she has a strong heartbeat; stronger than a human’s.” Gena said in a small voice.
“What does that mean?” Evie wondered, studying Gena’s face.
“Every species has a unique heartbeat. A vampire, of course, has no heartbeat, a fae’s heartbeat is really fast like a butterfly’s wings, a human’s heartbeat is slow and fragile, and a werewolf’s heartbeat is loud and strong. Your daughter’s heartbeat is more like a werewolf’s than a human’s.” Gena tried to explain.
Evie and Noah exchanged looks and then grinned.
“We weren’t sure if she was going to be a werewolf or a human or a bit of both.” Evie said, her eyes locked with Noah’s.
“We didn’t care either way, but the sooner we know the better we can prepare.” Noah added, glancing towards Gena, “So, thank you for telling us that.” He smiled.
“You’re welcome.” Gena nodded, smiling slightly. Greyson bumped his shoulder against hers and grinned down at her.

Two months later, Noah and Evie had a visitor from a witch named Mayze. She gave Evie a way to finally mark her Alpha mate but she also warned them about an upcoming conflict with the Werewolf Council. After attending a meeting with Noah, Greyson hurried upstairs to sit down with his mate.
“Of course the council see’s interspecies mating as a threat,” Gena scoffed, “The only thing they care about is having absolute power over your species and mixing the species threatens that. Why do you think you’re the only species without a royal family?”
“I….” Greyson paused, “I never thought about it, actually. Not much is known about our history and nothing is known about what was before the Council.” He said,
“There was a royal werewolf family, long ago. I don’t know what happened to them, though. Even then, werewolves and vampires didn’t get along. Our species really never recovered from the great war.” Gena shrugged.
“Gena, I promise that I won’t let the Council win. Noah is prepared to go to war over Evie and so am I, for both you and my Luna.” Greyson promised, pulling Gena close to his side.
“I know that, Grey, and I’ll surely go to war for you.” Gena smiled, kissing Greyson’s jawline and laughing as he squirmed under her touch.
“Grey, there’s something I wanted to ask you.” She sighed, pulling away.
“What is it, my princess?” Greyson asked, cupping her face.
“Have you ever thought about letting me change you?” Gena asked in a small voice. Greyson’s eyes went wide for a second before he sighed.
“I have thought about it, but I don't know exactly how that works or if it was even a thing that you could do.” Greyson paused.
“Yes, vampires can change anyone they want. They just have to be bitten by a vampire, die, and then drink human blood when they wake up. Any species can be changed.” Gena said,
“I would lose my wolf.” Greyson said and Gena nodded,
“Yes. You can only be a vampire or a werewolf, not both.”
“I love you, Gena, and the idea of being with you for forever is a big deal to me but….” Greyson looked like his heart was breaking so Gena stopped him, softly putting her finger against his lips,
“But, Clyde is a part of you and you can’t let him go. I don’t want you to let him go either, Grey. I love Clyde like I love you.” She said, smiling at him sweetly.
“You are truly my heart and soul.” Greyson sighed, looking relieved as he wrapped Gena’ up in his arm and planted a kiss on her forehead.
“You never asked so I thought I would bring it up. And there’s also the idea of you going to war and being nearly unkillable as a vampire.” Gena said, shrugging casually.
Greyson chuckled at her nonchalant tone and pulled her back so he could see her face.
“Clyde and I are a nearly unkillable duo, my princess, you don’t have to worry about us. Plus, an epic vampire warrior princess has our back.” He smirked.
“And your front.” Gena teased, running her eyes seductively over his body.
A low growl escaped Greyson’s chest and then he was on top of her, pinning her down to the sofa. Greyson and Gena had made it their mission to have s*x in every single room of their house and on every single surface they could make work. Tonight, Greyson decided on the coffee table in the living room. He cleared it off in a single swipe and laid his now naked mate down on the wood top. She squealed as her butt hit the cold top but it quickly turned to a moan as Greyson started pounding into her.

Four years later, everyone’s worst fear came true. The packs of the four corners were forced to assemble and fight in a war against the Werewolf Council. Answers to questions that no one had dared to ask before were revealed and the werewolf realm was uncovered where the King Alpha and Queen Luna took their rightful place on the throne.
Greyson’s youngest brother, Jack, and his new siren mate, Meredith, were Blood Moon’s representatives in the renewed werewolf realm. Greyson and Gena returned to the Blood Moon pack and continued to live their lives in peace, unconcerned about a tyrant government trying to rip them apart just because they came from different places.
With a number of pups left orphaned after the war, Gena and Greyson adopted three children: Phillipe, the future Beta of Blood Moon, Augustus, and Betty. Together, the five of them created a family of love and a future born from the hope of a Beta and his Vampire Princess..
