Something woke me up several hours later. I blinked at the alarm clock on the nightstand. It was seven-thirty in the morning, and sunlight peeked around the blinds. I heard a knock on the door. Ah, that was what had awakened me. I ran a hand through my hair and turned on the lamp. “Come in,” I said, thinking it was my mom come to get my lazy ass up.
