Chapter 6 Finn woke before the sun came up, as he usually did. Not by choice but because Tae generally made it clear he wanted out—first into the backyard, and then when Finn was dressed, for a walk or more specifically a run, in the large, overgrown field behind Finn’s house. This morning it didn’t bother him in the least, for the simple reason that he and Tae were going to take their walk downtown, along the river. Finn found a parking space close to where he’d seen the young man go to ground under the bridge, hoping that was his usual sleeping place—and that he wasn’t an early riser. “Okay, Tae, let’s see what happens,” Finn said, attaching the leash to Tae’s collar.
