Days rolled by, without fail. Fahim consistently felt this knowing tug pulling him closer to her. Often, he would laugh and flush it all away whenever she was around, but feel like a hero in disguise when the boys teased him. Jake and Harith, obviously noticed the change.
The way he would stare at her intently, make those dark moves only after looking around to see if she wasn't present, eat lunch after seeing her gobble her morsels, and constantly pick on her, succeeding in gaining her attention.
What, on the other hand, surprised them was she, the nerd shy girl, expressed more than unusual with him. With all the other boys, she would hide behind her shawl, the one marking her religion, however, with him, it had been her face brimming in laughter and bubbly grins; ones fished out as if they were only for him.
But their relationship was never defined, or never would be. Because whenever any group taunted or ended up making bets to make one of them spill their beans, either of them, may it be Fahim or Famisha say,
"Arey! Date him? We are best friends, or at least so amazingly close" (this is though what she said)
However Fahim would just limit the matter over a shrug and,
"Just friends", making it too abbreviated to even clarify it.
Even Jake who was a man of ladies could find this giggling character of Famisha a bit too much to be defined as 'friendship', unlike Harith who was busy flirting with one of their misseses and slowly even planned a trick by himself to deceive them.
Once, he kept a crumpled paper saying, 'No longer can be a friend. Because you are even more. Fahim", clearly improvising even the signature which was often coincidental when It came to him and placed it inside her Cindrella pouch. She had opened it by the break itself, only to laugh it off and show it to Fahim directly, without even considering it again.
Now, here is the funny conversation which Jake watched, while eating his choco chips with them both just beside him.
Fami: "Yar! What is this? Something of a big confession or what?
Fahim: (Looking up from his book) The f**k is this?'
Fami: (clearing her throat) I did say you to stop cursing!
Fahim: Not in the mood for more commanding! But seriously, where did you get this s**t from?
Fami:(astounded) Why don't you tell me?
Fahim: (Shaking his head) No, It's not me.
Fami: I thought so. Then who is so clever as to mimic your signature and get a cheesy dialogue in there, and also keep it inside the place where I often end up opening all the time.
Fahim shrugged.
Fami: Wait. Seriously, it's not you?
Fahim kept staring at her like some telepathy was crossing their eyes.
Fami finally left a deep breath.
"s**t!"
Saying so, she just barged off without another word.
While a stunned Fahim and a rather confused Jake remained still and thinking.
Jake played with his eyes, while he looked at Famisha, whose reaction he had least expected.
She was now, twirling her hair with an index while staring at the paper, also deeply glaring in our direction. On another hand, she held her phone and kept glancing at it now and then.
While Fahim, now kept glimpsing at her, with cringed eyebrows.
Feeling quite responsible for this awkward tension between them, Jake was about to stand up and confess when the cheer of Fami was heard, as she sprinted towards them.
"I got it! Look, Fahim", saying so, she pushed the mobile screen towards his face. Jake leaned in and almost gagged, as he saw a picture of his dumb messy sleepy face, staring at the camera.
Fahim hilariously laughed, one which he often did when she was around, and high-five her.
She looked at Jake, shyly smiled, and pulled out her tongue.
Jake almost choked.
Did they know?
"We saw you put it in my pouch. At least, you should have known..", her squeaky voice as said, averting gaze.
Fahim laughed along with her bubbly laugh, while a burning Jake raged.
"At least don't tell everyone about it! Aish..And I thought I had got it all under control"
"Oh yeah, you did", Fahim teased and shared another grin.
"Hahaha, guess I will see you guys later", she said, after hearing the bell. Sprinting to her seat, she settled down after two or three smiles at Fahim and a passing message saying, "Wait after class. I have to tell you something", and the classes began without fail.
Fahim kept her note safely inside his bag, while a thunderstruck Jake who was also as embarrassed and annoyed appeared less interested in that geography class.
Only if he had Harith, he kept thinking, would this plan have been a better way to set them up.
Letting his palms carry his drowsy head, he thought
Can a boy and girl be such good friends?
Even at an age like ours?
* *
"So, yeah. Guess, you're walking home with that somebody, aren't you?"
Fahim nodded and gave him a push.
"Find yourself somebody like her. Oh! Maybe, you already have thousands"
Jake stuck out his tongue at his bad sense of humor, even though it had been meager truth, and began for the gates. Fahim had turned his back on him just then, when a hurried Harith, rushed in through the less crowded gates, in a track pant and loose crumpled T-shirt, breaking a sweat.
He barged into Jake and held his hand, breathing hard.
Jake knew something was wrong. A five-year friendship could say it all, couldn't it?
"Dude...What's wrong? The f**k were you absent today?"
A bunch of walking-out gossip gangs pushed them off the way. Jake and Harith stumbled upon their feet and fell on the grass yard few inches away. Getting up on their feet, they moved to a side, after giving off threats towards the annoying seniors who were rushing out.
"Harith, what is-"
"We f****d!"
Jake looked taken aback!
"W-wha-?
"Me and Mrs. Ancy f****d, dude, and that too, without any restriction"
Jake held his open mouth with a palm as it left him speechless.
"The heck your saying? Her hubby wasn't home?"
Harith shrugged,
"Some s**t guy who barged in, saying he had late-night calls at the call center and walked out even before even seeing her. Guess, me hiding wasn't even necessary"
Jake couldn't believe his ears. This was neither good news nor bad news, but how it happened, felt unreal.
"s**t! You came here, in this condition, to tell me the story right?"
Harith winked at him and nodded, like a pervert.
Jake laughed, thinking how he had just felt lonely as a friend had ditched him, seconds before.
"Dude let's sit down then"
They both walked to the first bench, the broken one at the side of the basketball court, and settled down. Harith's package even had a delicious burger and chip combo from Dominos and they began to munch as he talked.
"Why did you skip school for that, though?"
"Seriously?"
"You know I'm joking", Jake laughed, almost choking on a chicken piece.
Meanwhile, the security guard gave them a glance, nodded when Jake showed ten minutes, and walked back to his position, waiting for the clock to struck 5 so he could just go back home.
"So, I went to her house after she suddenly asked for tuition in algebra. I did remind her it was the next Tuesday, but she said, she had had free time and had actually thought about me then."
"You?", Jake taunted and held back a laugh.
"Yeah! It was when I caught a hint of what she was saying. So, I went on my bicycle to her at morning eight, dressed in a uniform, and can you imagine that I had to go in such a boring fashion? Or else, the maid will catch me and lend me to my uncle, who would make dead meat out of me. Yeah, so, I reached there and the door was already open. I walked in, and suddenly, she burst into tears!'
Jake looked at his side, meeting his eyes.
"Why?
He left a sigh, wiping off the ketchup.
"Apparently, she was having bad days. Her husband had become a drunkaholic, if that is what it is, because of his business crashing down and her son, yeah, that cholera thingy restricting him to a hospital and stuff"
"So, shouldn't she be there?!"
Harith shrugged,
"f**k you, man! She says, she goes only in the noon, and that too alone, because her hubby was never home"
They both had finished their snack. Cleaning with handkerchiefs, they now faced, each other for the fun part was just arising.
"She then started with the maths. However, there was this tension. For nobody was around, not even the maid who had fallen sick, and the door was locked. The upstairs is always the place for this and my classroom made specially by her, was also there. So, I began my first step"
Jake held his breath and gulped.
"How? f**k you, but can you get to it or what?"
Harith laughed,
"Don't you dare f*****g masturbate here!"
He gave him a shove and shook his head.
"I just moved closer to her, when during a doubt. She too was restless man, being a culprit to distraction now and then"
"So when one of my fingers grazed her, by mistake too, she was like looking at me with those puppy eyes, so I didn't stop myself"
Jake remained, waiting with open eyes.
"Yeah, I was fast. I just dragged her by the neck and kissed her. Harder and harder. She too reciprocated, and like a lion, she started ripping off my shirt"
Jake moaned, imagining it.
Harith laughed,
"Then I pulled her to bed, turned her on by keenly removing her long frock, one which makes her look like a hot cake, and began exploring her. Oh s**t! Those breasts, that stomach, and the lean legs: a delicious bite indeed"
Jake bit his lower lip and shivered,
"So the restriction?"
"I did actually ask if she had any protection sources, but she moaned in my ear saying, she wanted to feel me. f**k, that turned me on!"
Jake nodded and held his head like it was going to burst.
"Oh, she's fresh and good. I even have an appointment tomorrow", marked Harith after a wink.
"So you're coming from there, now?", asked jake, surprisingly.
Harith nodded.
"f**k! Go back home, you teacher-seducer"
He shook his head and begged,
"I need the uniform now. It got all torn in the process or else everyone back there would kill me!"
Jake now knew, he had come here for a purpose. Just as he was going to give him one hit on his head, a rather surprised Harith shook him and said, out of the blue,
"And yeah dude, is Fami and Fahim for real? I mean, Mrs. Ancy did tell me, Fami is already betrothed to Farhan"
Jake almost choked.
What?
