THE ROYAL LEGACY – Chapter Eight
Theodore
That feeling when you want to snap someone’s head off for touching what’s yours in the most disrespectful way. I felt that when this guy that goes to my university kicked my beloved Serafina. My poor gleaming red baby.
I received this beautiful car when I turned eighteen. She’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. And I am definitely protective of her. I even stole a handicap tag so I can park her to bigger spaces in parking lots and closer to whatever establishment I go to.
Whoever touches her without permission would have to face me, stuttering, knees trembling, and in this case, eyes wide open and veins pooping as I held their neck between my hand and against a wall.
“Theo!”
Ugh. My lovely twin brother had to spoil my fun. I would really love to snap this guy’s neck for kicking my beautiful Serafina. She doesn’t deserve even a slight touch from an arse like this guy. He reeked of alcohol at this early hour. I haven’t even had my share of a mysterious drink mix I overheard Dad talk to Pops about when I was younger. It’s the only one I know of that can affect werewolves like me the way alcohol affects humans.
I hesitantly let the violator go with some expletives to remind him not to mess with things he shouldn’t mess with.
I faced my brother, a little disappointed, but I smiled anyway. He can always find if he really wants to. Think about it, he could have stopped me from killing one of Uncle Klarence’s bears because he found me at that time but he didn’t.
Looking at Thad, people might think he’s the bad egg between us because of the way he carried himself. He wears dark clothes most of the time. He rides a black motorcycle that most guys at the university would die for to have. It’s expensive, more expensive than my Serafina actually.
Thad does look like a gangster. Plus, he doesn’t talk much. He’s quiet but his eyes speak of thousand ways to kill someone.
I smirked and walked over to him. “Did they know I’m not home?”
He shook his head emotionlessly. The seriousness of his face sometimes pisses me off. “They asked me to tell you to get ready.”
I still don’t know why our parents couldn’t tell if we’re home sometimes. Which is really good but it made me curious a lot of times. Well, I’ve been too busy having fun to know about that.
“I guess I’ll go home,” I grumbled as I turned my back on him. I knew he was not leaving until I told him something. “My baby is parked on the other side. And you might want to steer clear of the street where you came from. Matthew is there in one of the stores. I may have sucker punched one of his friends earlier.”
I laughed as I walked away. Thad’s wolf Aragorn scolded me oh so calmly, telling me I should stop riling people up or picking fights with them.

Thad’s motorcycle followed me as I drove back to the palace. I was enjoying my drive through the paved road leading back to our territory when all of a sudden the blaring sound of sirens interrupted me.
“You’ve got to f*ucking with me,” I cursed under my breath, eyes glaring at the popo’s car through my rearview mirror. Bad time to have Serafina’s top off. I felt like jumping midair and clawing the popo’s car with my relentless claws.
I saw Thad pull over ad I did as well. I tilted my head and watched as my brother talked to the policeman who exited his car.
“Don’t do anything, Theo,” my brother say through the link. I rolled my eyes. Like I was going to do something. I was sitting here, being a good boy and all. He’s the one who was speeding and got caught.
I listened to their conversation and I could tell the popo was a little surprised at how calm my brother is given his attire. I groaned to myself when the officer still gave him a ticket anyway. For not wearing a helmet.
“You could have just pressed the back of his neck,” I told him later when we reached the garage of the palace.
“So they can go barging in here and asking why I ran away from a ticket,” Thad reasoned with me.
“No. So you can away with a dumb ticket.”
Thad pulled his key from his ride and began to walk away from me. There he goes avoiding this talk with me. “You know he wouldn’t have the balls to come here and question you about something he didn’t have any evidence,” I said as I followed him. We headed to the door and Thad insisted there was no use fussing over what happened. He’s pay for the ticket. Simple as that.
“Come on. Who’s he to question you?”
“He had a camera on him, Theo. He’s a cop. I’m a regular citizen. Did I really want to prolong the situation?”
“Prolong,” I said clicking my tongue. We entered the palace and walked the hallway leading to the main kitchen. “And you’re not a regular citizen. We rule this mother*cking—
“Language.”
Thad and I paused when we heard our mother. I instinctively looked away when I felt his eyes on me. King Timothee can be the gentlest but meanest werewolf I know. Thad knows that, too. But what is with cursing that just comes naturally to me?
“You two were not home?” Dad asked. From the corner of my eye, I could see his stern face and foreboding stance. I chose to ignore the thoughts Apollo, my wolf, was feeding me. Unlike Thad and Aragorn, my wolf and I don’t really get along all the time. He’s more like a nagging voice in my head.
“He went to see a classmate of his, Dad,” Thad told our mother. “They had a little fight so I went to pick him up. He was not going to miss the hunt tonight.”
I could feel our mother’s eyes narrow on me. Fighting seemed to be my past time so what Thad said shouldn’t appear suspicious. I did leave with intent to spend the night away and miss the hunt. What’s the use? We go for a run, catch a deer or two. It was fun when we were younger but I’m too old for this s**t.
Pops and Dad though, they love to go every full moon. Seeing the big ball in its glory was like getting a blessing from Her Almighty. I have so many questions to the goddess that every time I see the moon, I feel them adding up. The anxiety I feel whenever I think of Sebastian would double. It’s as if the closer he gets to his eighteenth birthday, the closer I was to my death.
He deserves a better mate than me but it never stopped me from wishing I was his mate… and not Thad.
“Theo, come to my office before the hunt,” Dad said before he walked away. I followed his figure, pursing my lips to the side and thinking of what could be the reason why I was being summoned. It couldn’t be my expletive mouth. He didn’t know I was ditching the hunt. More importantly, he didn’t know about us getting pulled over by the popo. If he did, Thad would be the one summoned.
“Thad, you come as well.”
“And there it is,” I said loud enough for Thad to hear. But then again, our mother has excellent hearing. “Is it the popo?” I whispered.
Thad didn’t answer and just walked away from me. What’s with them walking away like that? Oh so calmly.
“Christ!”
“Wrong god,” Thad said.
I could only growl as I followed him.
