Chapter 5

Awkwardly, Anya followed Arin inside the room of his suit. "Tell me why do I have to relocate to your suite," Anya asked as Arin patted rubbing alcohol onto the cut on her cheek.  She winced at the burning it caused. "Sorry," he said. He patted a bandaid on top and watched as Anya's legs dangled off the bed- not quite touching the ground. "You're short." "Obviously, I'm only thirteen." "So, you're thirteen?" Arin smiled and Anya knew that he prodded enough for her to slip out information unknowingly. "Eight grade, I'm guessing. What school did you go to?" Anya gnawed at her lip. She debated whether or not to tell Arin that she was self-taught and did not go to school. Meekly, she said, "I didn't go to school. I self-taught myself by...stealing books secretly from the library." "You stole?" "Hey, I know it's really bad to steal and I still feel really guilty about it but I would always sneak it back it," Anya cringed at herself, remembering how she was almost caught by a security guard. "It's not as worse as what I've done," Arin mumbled but Anya didn't hear him. Anya noticed the portraits hanging up everywhere in Arin's room. Some were with another woman and Arin and others-most- were with just the woman. In Anya's eyes, she was gorgeous. She also had black hair that flowed to her waist, gentle, warm eyes. Anya's eyes were the opposite-always on the edge and with a crease of worry. "Is she your girlfriend?" Anya asked Arin but felt something twist inside her. She hoped for Arin to say no but this only brought her confusion. Arin was taken back from her blunt question. Anya noticed his eye's warmth flow out and harden. "She is. Her name is Khaleesi." "Oh, when can I meet her? I suppose one day she'll find out you bought a minor," Anya said, wanting Khaleesi to know of her existence. She dared to hope that maybe Khaleesi would make Arin release her. "Khaleesi is dead and don't even think of trying to occupy her place." "Wait, what?" "Don't try to slither your way into my heart like the witch you may be," his eyes were venomous. His lips turned into a firm line and the distance between them seemed to increase. His actions wounded and infuriated Anya. "Are you mad? How will I ever reach that cold-blooded heart of years when I am 13 and you're probably 30. It's never going to happen so I think you should get that through your thick dumbass skull!" Anastasia exploded. "And you if are so persistent to tell me so then just let me go. Let me be free!" Arin climbed on top of her and pinned her arms above her head. Anya was trembling in fear. He grabbed her chin harshly and stared into her eyes. Her warm chestnut eye contrasts with his ice-cold eyes. "I don't like that tone you're talking to me with and if you want to be free then start behaving and stop acting like a brat." "I'm the brat? Look at you, terrorizing me by crushing me," Anya protested. Arin's face became dazed as Anya saw that he was staring at her intently. "She had blue eyes but you have warm ones." "It's called chestnut, jackass," she spat. "Your jaw is more defined but your small, short, and not to mention thirteen." "Why does all that sound like you're criticizing me?" Arin smirked. "Because it means I'll never fall for you because of Khaleesi." "Stop it! You're too old to fall for me and I don't give a f**k about Khaleesi or you or anyone in this place so stop! And let me go," Anya began to cry. "No. I can't be hypnotized by you. I should only love Khaleesi," he mumbled to himself. "YOU'RE DELUSIONAL," Anya screamed as she felt his nails digging into her wrists. The door suddenly flew open and Chris marched in. He hauled Arin off her. Arin, realizing what he was doing stared at his hands. Anya's hair fell like curtains over her face and when she saw the door wide-open she bolted for it. A million thoughts swirled in her mind. The people here were crazy and pedophile's as well as psychotic. It was obvious Arin ran after her. Anya tripped on one of the stair steps and tumbled down but picked herself up when she saw the door.  But two burly men dressed in armor stepped in front of her, blocking the exit. She bolted left and skidded past the kitchen to the balcony door that was wide open- wind blowing. She marched to a stop when she realized the balcony was a dead end. The garden was far, far below. She began to panic. She wanted to be far away from here as possible. This was no ordinary place and she was positive Arin had a problem with her that she could not describe. She raised a leg over the ledge of the balcony when Arin yelled, "Stop, don't jump!" "Don't you dare come any closer or I will," Anya threatened and settled sitting down on the ledge. "Let's bargain." "I won't bargain with you. So get down." "I will jump unless you set me free." "And where will you go? Huh. Back with your shithole brother? Have you ever thought about that?" he began to list all the reasons why Anya couldn't go which irritated her. "Anything's better than being stuck in this place. You're f*****g crazy, delusional, and a psychopath." "You're really going to through away your life because of that?" "You started raving about Khaleesi and how I wouldn't take her place when in fact I wouldn't give you the time of day to get close to me. How do you explain that outbreak?" Anya smugly said. "I can't because you wouldn't understand. You're human," he reasoned but then snapped his jaw shut. "What do you mean, I'm human? Aren't you?" "You can't go anywhere because you're not in the human world. It's a different dimension or world," Arin said and the more he talked the more Anya believed he needed mental health. "You're crazy! Can't you see it? You're talking about different worlds when there is only one world and that is earth." Arin groaned frustratedly. "Ugh, you have more of a human mind than I thought." "Says the psychopath." "You leave me no choice," he announced and lunges for Anya. She yelps as his arms encircle her and they both fall down.
