Season 1: Survival Chapter 1: "Lost and Alone" Kampala, Uganda. 2005. Kofi's eyes slowly opened, and he was met with the harsh glare of the sun. He groggily sat up, rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand. As he looked around, he realized that he was alone. His family was nowhere to be found. Panic set in as Kofi scrambled to his feet. He looked around frantically, but all he saw were strangers rushing to and fro. He had no idea where he was or how he had gotten there. Kofi's mind was a blur as he tried to remember the events of the previous day. He had been walking with his family through the market, and then...and then something had happened. He couldn't quite remember what. As Kofi stood there, trying to make sense of his surroundings, a group of rough-looking men approached him. They eyed him up and down, their faces twisted into cruel grins. "Well, well, well," one of them sneered. "What do we have here? A little lost boy, all alone in the big city." Kofi's heart began to pound as the men closed in around him. He knew that he had to get away, but he didn't know where to go. Just as the men were about to grab him, a loud noise echoed through the market. The men turned to see what it was, and Kofi took advantage of the distraction to make a run for it. He sprinted through the crowded market, dodging vendors and shoppers as he went. He could hear the men shouting behind him, but he didn't dare look back. Finally, Kofi saw a narrow alleyway between two buildings. He darted into the alleyway, hoping to lose his pursuers. As he caught his breath, Kofi realized that he was lost in the city. He had no idea where he was or how to find his family. But he knew that he couldn't stay in the alleyway forever. He had to keep moving, had to keep searching for his family. And so, with a determined look on his face, Kofi set off into the unknown, ready to face whatever dangers lay ahead. To be continued...
