When I got home, I saw an envelope laying on the floor when I opened the door. I picked it up and it was addressed to me. I closed my door and sat my bag down on the counter. I opened the envelope and it was some type of invite to something. I read it and was shocked to see it was an invite to a get to know each other dinner hosted by Alpha Brandon. I felt like I was going to pass out after reading that. I don't know if I want to go to this dinner. What if he thinks I am only there to get in bed with him. I need to talk to Dara about what she thinks I should do. I called her and asked if she was busy and she told me she wasn't. I told her I needed to talk to her as soon as possible and she said she would be over in a few minutes. I hung up the phone and within 8 minutes Dara was using the key I gave her to open my front door. She asked what was wrong and if I had been assaulted by the Beta again. I told her to slow down and breathe. I said I called you because when I got home this was laying on my floor at the door. I handed her the invite and she read it. She looked up at me,
"So what are you going to do Georgia?"
"I don't know what to do. That's why I wanted to talk to you."
"Georgia, I know this is out of character for him but maybe it's a good thing. Maybe this is meant to be. You could try to talk to him about what has been going on with his Beta and Gamma-to-be."
"That's what I thought you were going to say. So in your opinion, I should go? And I sighed.
"Yes, Georgia. I think you should go and at least try to talk to him about what has been going on. Maybe he doesn't know and this is something he needs to know."
"Fine, I will respond and I will go."
She smiled at me and said she was going to head back to her house and head to bed. I told her I loved having her as my bestie and she headed home. I took a shower and got ready for bed. I sat up for a bit reading and then turned my light off and passed out. When I woke up, I sat there and thought about what I would need to wear to this dinner. I didn't want to look like I was asking for it but I also didn't want to overdress. I decided to ask Dara to ask for me. I knew she wouldn't have an issue with it. I got up and got dressed. Today it was a little chilly so I put on a pair of jeans and threw a hoodie over my t-shirt. I pulled my hair up and headed out to the bookstore. I had some running around to do today since I was off and didn't have to go in to help in the kitchen today. So on my way, I ran into the bookstore and asked Dara if when she went in for kitchen duty if she could take his food to him and ask him for me. She said she would but I would owe her. I told her that was fine and I thanked her. I left and went to take care of what I had to do today.
On my way through the courtyard, I sensed I was being watched and I looked around but didn't see anyone staring at me or paying any attention to me. I looked up at the packhouse and just caught a glimpse of Alpha Brandon ducking behind his curtains. I shook my head and walked off. I went to the garden market and did my shopping, then headed over to the laundry building and collected my clothes and bedding. After I finished running around, I stopped in at our shake and smoothie bar and got a tropical smoothie and a green smoothie. I know I don't really need to get the green smoothie because they are a health drink and I am perfectly healthy and comfortable with the way my body looks but they just taste good. The cashier said myself and 1 other person were the only ones who ever order the green smoothie. I laughed and asked who the other person was and in my head, I kept saying dear goddess please don't say his name and sure enough, she said, Alpha Brandon. I laughed and thanked her for my smoothies then left. I headed home and debated on if I wanted to stay in for dinner or if I wanted to face the loud packhouse dining hall. I chose to stay home and I ordered myself some Chinese food and had it delivered. After I ate, I went and sat on my back patio and stared out into the woods. It is so peaceful and calming. When I went back inside, I went to my closet and looked to see what I had that would be appropriate for this upcoming dinner. I had a few dresses that were nice but until Dara lets me know what Alpha Brandon says I won't be able to decide. I went into the living room and packed up my book, I sat down on the couch and finished where I left off. I fell asleep and when I woke up and looked at the time I had 15 minutes to get ready for work. I ran into my room and got dressed and took off out the door. I made it to the bookstore with 8 minutes to spare and I was out of breath. Dara laughed as I sat there trying to catch my breath.
"I'll be over after work to pick out your dress for the dinner."
"Could you just tell me what he said?"
She shook her head at me,
"Nope. I am going to pick out your dress for this dinner and you aren't going to fight me on it either."
"Fine." And I crossed my arms. I clocked in and got to work.
