CHAPTER TWELVE
Stella turned to Danni. Seeing her expression, Danni laughed. “You’re only going down to your underwear, honey. I just need to get an idea of the body shape under that baggy clothing.” She regarded Stella’s outfit dubiously.
She turned to Cecilia, wondering if she would listen if she asked her to leave, but felt confused when she saw she was smiling supportively. No trace of her earlier viciousness remained.
“In summer on the yacht, when it’s bikini time, you’ll be wearing even less,” Cecilia explained with a sympathetic smile. “But I can see you feel awkward. There’s no reason to be, but would you like me to step outside?”
That unexpected comment disarmed Stella. It felt even ruder to say yes, when Cecilia was now showing empathy.
