Everyone is looking at me. I'm being hugged and congratulated. I can't hear or feel a thing. I'm numb.
Did he just say marriage and Bailey Walker in the same sentence??
Oh gosh, they are walking this way. What am I going to say? I feel sick.
"Bailey Walker, meet Alpha Michael Lauer" Grayson says.
I'm frozen. Thank goodness for Ben, who came to me with them, for nudging my shoulder.
"Hello, Alpha" I keep my eyes low and curtsey. It's the appropriate greeting you give.
"The pleasure is all mine, Bailey" Alpha Michael said with a smirk. Ick, he makes my skin crawl. The way he's staring at me makes me feel very uncomfortable.
"Alpha Michael, it's been a long night, and I'm sure you have plans to travel back to summit in the morning. Why don't we call it a night" Grayson said, and for once in my life I was grateful to him.
"Yes, of course." Alpha Michael said still staring at me. "Bailey, you rest up as well. You will be leaving with us in the morning."
"WHAT?!" I blurted out before I could even stop myself.
I seem to have stunned them because they were all staring now.
"You are going to be my Luna. You no longer need to stay here." Michael said.
"But, I just..I mean. it's short notice." I started to argue.
"Bailey!" Grayson growled. "Not another word. you will pack your bags and be ready to leave in the morning"
I had tears in my eyes. I'm literally shaking. I wanted to scream, yell, fight,cry all at the same time. Grayson sensed it too. He was getting ready to send me to the stalls,but i just couldn't care right now. I couldn't submit yet.
"She'll be ready in the morning, Alpha" Ben cut in.
What is he doing?? He's actually ok with this. My heart is breaking that my own brother ok with this. i just stare at him and he's not looking at me. Does his duty as beta really come before me, his own flesh and blood?
"Very good." Was all Grayson said as he and Michael turned and walked away.
I couldn't stand,my legs were giving out on me. Ben still holding me up on one side, Mrs Betty on the other. When did she get here? I know she was talking to me before the announcement. Had she stayed the whole time?
Ben finally turned and looked at me. It wasn't a look of betrayl though. It was fear. Ben was afraid. But,of what?
"Go to your room,wait for me." Ben said.
"But, I can't just --"
"Bailey,don't argue. Not right now. Do as I say. Go to your room and wait." He interrupted.
So that's it. I'm stuck. I'm going to be shipped off to summit moon. I don't even get a say.

Mrs. Betty had come to my room with me. She hasn't said much,but then again, what is there to say?
There was a slight tap at my door.. I knew it was Ben, I sensed him coming up that stairs.
He walked in like a man on a mission.
"Bailey, don't talk. just listen. We don't have a lot of time." Ben started.
"Ben, wha--"
"I'm getting you outta here. Tonight" Ben interrupted.
Did he just say he's getting me out of here?
I look over at Mrs Betty, who had been packing a bag for me without me even noticing.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"There's no way in hell I'm going to let you go to Summit moon and be married off to that d**k." Ben exclaimed.
I jumped and hugged him so hard. He didn't betray me. I couldn't stop the tears that were pouring out.
" You didn't really think I was ok with this, did you?" Ben asked.
Now I'm ashamed i even thought it.
"Not to interrupt,but we haven't got the time. The patrolling well start soon and she needs to be out of the gate before then" Mrs Betty interjected.
"Right, ready?" Ben asked.
It's not like I have a choice. Actually, I do,thank to Ben and Mrs Betty. Stay and go to Summit or run like hell.
" Let's go". I said.
