The moment he heard the front door close, Dylan left his office and strode to the foyer.
His heart beat wildly. He’d lost.
And he never lost.
He refused to open the front door and chase after Lois. She wanted to leave him. There was nothing he could do to change that.
But staying still made him ill to his stomach. Work. He’d get to work to get his mind off of Lois.
He returned to his office and then his phone pinged.
Arman. His cousin’s private plane had just requested take off clearance.
If Arman left the country, he’d still be out there, causing havoc.
Dylan’s heart and body were charged with energy and he gathered his new, less-traceable phone and tablet.
Jake called and asked, “Dylan, you okay?”
