Chapter 10
Lois paced back and forth in the elevator of their condo building. Dylan watched her, and didn’t quite know how to help. They’d quickly cleaned up in their place, dropped off the bags, and headed right out to see her parents, who were waiting.
The door beeped when they reached the lower floor and she took his arm. Her face was red when she said, “Don’t let my parents scare you off.”
He patted her arm linked to his. “Relax, Lois.”
She nodded like she agreed but every step she took had an extra bounce in it. “Okay, but you know they’re very religious.”
They made it to the front door. He reached for the doorbell and pressed it. “So that’s why you’re still in black and not the green dress?”
