Chapter 5Glancing across at Aleck from the corner of his eye, Julen smiled. The evening was proving to be enjoyable on several levels. Nic’s band had drawn a larger audience than previously as word about them spread, Cassandra and, more importantly, Wiley were behaving impeccably, and it seemed that Aleck liked guys. As in liked guys.
As the band finished their current set, Hayden came over with Nic in tow.
“Aleck, Nic’s said that when the club empties out, he’ll let me play on the drums. I know you have work in the morning. I can make my own way home.”
“Ah, I think I should wait with you.” Aleck shook his head.
“I give you my personal assurance, Hayden will get home safely.” Nic laid a hand on Hayden’s shoulder.
