Torment

She is a child that no longer sees herself as one. She doesn’t even view herself as human, but instead as nothing in particular. She ran back to him, maybe not just to protect him but also because he is a symbol of what she once was. A human child that she wishes she never lost within herself, is what he brings back to her. Is she selfish to choose him over the hope of saving the one who freed and protected her throughout this journey? Owen is scared and most likely going to die. Remembering this she quickens her pace. Maybe she can choose both if she is fast enough. Upon reaching Ryan she picks him up and goes back into the maze, determined to find Owen in time. All she had to rely on was instinct , and hoped that each turn she took was right. She heard her name being called out a few times. A raspy yell saying “Shut up!” She knew she was close and took off running in the direction of the sound. Meanwhile Owen was being backhanded and punched for talking again. “She’s not going to find you. Now just accept the fate you deserve.” the creature said. The creature stood there beating him till his whole face was beginning to bruise and swell. Then Owen was dragged again but this time the creature had his ankle. Tears poured from Owens eyes as he whimpered in pain. “Why are you doing this?” Owen asked. The monster turned to Owen sharply. “Are you a complete imbecile or are you a masochist who just wants to be beaten as much as possible? The monster asked as he slapped Owen again. “Do you like this?” the monster hissed. “Don’t worry you’re going to have even more pain, you masochist.” Why was this creature so angry?" Owen thoughy. The creature dragged Owen to a room within the maze. On the wall in the room the word wrath was written. There was a large metal table in the center of the room. It had restraints attached to it and upon seeing them Owen’s eyes widened. He knew that he would soon be strapped to the table. The creature let go of Owen’s ankle and Owen quickly got up and tried to run. The creature quickly grabbed his wrist and dragged Owen to the table. With almost no effort the creature picked him up and slammed him down onto the table. The creature then began to forcefully restrain Owen's limbs. Owen kicked and squirmed. The creature just laughed and said “ Stop failing around . It’s pathetic.” After fully restraining Owen the creature smiled an evil smile and croaked out the words “Now the fun begins" Julia had been running quite a distance and had been carrying a child for some of it. She wondered how much strength and energy would be needed to save Owen and if she’d have enough. She heard sobbing and knew she was close. Ryan trembled as he heard the sobbing. She could tell he was terrified out of his mind. She set him down and said “Wait right here for me.” He sniffled and nodded. Owen was bound as the creature switched between clawing, hitting, strangling, and burning him with a lighter. This place was weird. Why did this creature have a lighter and why was he so evil? It was evident that the creature was just setting up for more tortutre. It wanted to start slow so Owen wouldn’t die right away. It wanted him to suffer as much as possible. He was beyond vengeful and lost. It only thought of the torment and one other thing. The other thing is something It’s lost as part of its torment. The creature occasionally laughed at Owen. It thought that Owen had something to do with the torment it endured. It was torture for days to point where it lost reasoning. All of this hell was in the name of a so-called science experiment. Everyone here including Owen was some sort of test subject and this creature had it worse than most. He began to switched to taking off one of Owen’s nails, and used it to scratch the word murderer on Owen’s arm. This creature is the definition of sadistic and unbeknownst to Owen, it was also forced to be cannibalistic at a point. The creature continued the torture and took out a long piece of barbed wire. It tied the wire around Owen’s neck. Throughout all of this It occasionally muttered something but Owen couldn’t tell what it was. Julia came into the room right as the creature picked up a huge sledge hammer. It must have weighed around thirty pounds due to its size. “Stop!” Julia yelled. The creature turned to her. “Well, well, well, look who stupidly showed up little miss savior. Unfortunately I only have one table so you’ll have to wait your turn.” It said mockingly. “Let me take his place.” Julia said in a shaky voice. “Wait your turn little miss savior.” The monster said while turning back to Owen. “Wait, I have something you might want.” Julia said as she showed the creature the key they found on the door earlier. The creature smiled. “That’s how you get out of this room.” The creature said. “So I’ll need to take that away.” Julia bolted back into the maze. She got to Ryan and picked him up again, and ran as fast as she could hear the creature’s footsteps behind her. She took multiple turns hoping to lose it. If she could get Ryan out then at least she’d save one life. The creature was getting closer. It knew every turn in the maze. When it realized that it knew the way to the e“Julia, is Owen dead?” Ryan asked in a worried voice. “I don’t know but I hope he’s alive.” She responded. “Are we going to die?” Ryan asked, “I don’t know, but I promise I will try my best to protect you.” Julia said softly. Ryan hugged her and whispered “Thank you.” Her eyes teared up as he embraced her . She had to get him out of this wretched place. She had to get him to freedom. “Lay down and try to sleep. I’ll figure out a plan and get you to safety soon.” She said softly. He did as she said and was soon out cold. She found a bag in the corner of the room and checked for supplies. It had nothing but a small teddy bear. She went back to the kitchen. Once there she placed some water bottles into the bag. She also grabbed some apples that were on the counter and a few knives. Then she went to the storage closet to see if she could find something to clean wounds with. There was nothing for that. Why would there be? The creature wouldn’t heal anyone it caught. She went back to the bedroom. Ryan was still sleeping. He was so tiny and he reminded her of a gentle kitten. She laid down for a bit in order to rest. Maybe resting would clear her mind. She couldn’t rest for long because she had to stay awake, but just lying down helped with the stress. She got up after a few minutes and decided to look around again. She looked under the bed and found a box. Maybe it had some useful information. Julia opened it carefully. It could be dangerous. It contained some pencils and an old looking notebook. The notebook was a bit torn up. This was probably due to the creature’s sharp claws. She carefully flipped through it a bit and most of the pages had very angry filled writings on them. The handwriting was very messy and dark. It looked as if the creature was using the pencils to not only write but also to attack the sketch. Then she found a page that shocked her to the core.
