Joseph the Elder pov
It has been several weeks now and I am almost to the castle. They knew I would be there today. I just needed to see how they are doing. Or if this was arranged to make it seem they were mates. Plus I needed to see Janice. I saw her so long ago before she shifted. I knew we were mates then. But being an elder I could not talk to her like a mate. She was just too young. Now she is over two hundred. years old. And I am determined to have her as my mate. She is mine, she belongs to me. I got to the castle and both Jaden and I guess his mate was standing there holding hands. I wondered where Janice was. I will be looking for her when I get inside. I walked up the many steps they had, seriously. Do they really need all these steps? I reached the top shaking Jaden's hand.
Good afternoon Elder Joseph, I'm glad you came. This is my mate, the queen Alyssa." I nodded, shaking her hand.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Queen Alyssa. Now I came here today to see how the both of you are doing. I will be needing to see your room to make sure her scent is in there and no other room. I will be needing to talk to Alyssa as well to see how you have been treating her. Now Jaden. I am not like the other elders. I'm not looking for power. I am power. I am the main elder. I had suspended the others that came here and threatened you. Since the rule is you must find your mate or step down. It seems you have found her. So. Show me your room so I can check."
Alyssa pov.
When the elders came and asked to see Jaden's room. I was so glad I was in there this morning. I laid in his bed. Even had to fix myself because he was gone somewhere. And when he came back he had known what I had done because he could have smelled it. He called me a tease since I haven't given him s*x for a while now. But I did make sure I was in there touching things laying on the bed. I even tossed some of my dirty clothes in his hamper. I mixed them with his. I even put my half empty bottle of shampoo and bodywash his bathroom. I had thought of everything. Even laying my head on the pillows so my hair will be in the bed. So I'm really hoping what I did really worked. When we got to his room we opened the door and let him inside first. I had forgotten I put photos of us on the walls and the coffee table. He started looking around. The closest. He even looked at the bed and how the pillows were arranged. He nodded and then he saw our photos. I was so glad I had Janice take some photos of us. He saw our dirty clothes. When we walked out of the room. We went to the throne room and sat at the round table.
"Jaden and Alyssa please sit down. I know this has got to be hard for the both of you. But my inspection of the room has passed the test. All I want you to do is be happy. Even if it's just for a moment. You need to remember what love is all about. I do have one question. Where is your sister Janice?
Jaden pov.
Why was he asking about my sister? We had passed the test. Now he wants to see her. That is weird. But I mind linked her letting her know to come to the throne room the elder wanted to see her. She knocked on the door and walked inside. She took a few steps then stopped. She was sniffing the air I guess. Then she looked at elder Joseph. She growled saying to him mate mine. Holy f*****g s**t she has a elder for a f*****g mate. What the hell. I put my head in my hands wondering what is going to come next. When I heard my sister start talking.
Joseph is that you. Why didn't you tell me when you first knew?"
"I'm sorry Janice but you were just too young and have not shifted yet. You know it's against the rules and law that we can not force a mate that is still too young to be with you. I waited this long to have you." She walked over and stood beside him. He pulled her down onto his lap.
"So I guess we are family now. How are we going to do this? I know my sister doesn't want to leave her home or the kingdom.
"Well we can move the elder home closer to the castle since it's ten hours away. I know your sister doesn't want to live that far away from her brother. So right now my elders bought some land and hired builders to build onto it. It should be done in a few months. Until then. I need to get back and do some business. Janice. You can stay here okay. I promise I will be back for you. I just need to get a few things done and we will be back".
He got up after she stood from his lap. He took her hand and walked outside.
He placed his forehead to hers.
"Janice I promise I will be back. Don’t give up on me okay?" He softly kissed her and pulled her to him hugging her tightly. They got into the car and sped off. Janice kept looking down the road. I knew she hoped he would change his mind and come back. But he didn't. I had to go to her and make her walk back into the castle. She turned to me
"Jaden. I knew so long ago we were mates. Just by the way he would look at me. But I was just so young. Now he's gone again. He says he will be back. But he's a f*****g elder. There is no telling when he will be back. Tears came down her face. I held my sister tightly as I walked her into the family room. I sat her down. As she put her head on my shoulder. Long ago she was there for me. It's my turn to be there for her.
Alyssa pov
The next morning I decided to get out of bed and start training. The girls are getting so much better. I was so proud of them. They weren't wearing the bootie shorts and half top shirts. They were wearing clothes that finally covered them up. They trained with the guys. And some of them actually found their mates. After training I took a long hot bath. I just wanted to relax and soak in the hot water. Tomorrow I had to go again for a fight. Lucky for me I was training and sparring with them shifting into our Lycans. The more I shifted the stronger I felt. When I got out I dried off and got dressed. I mindlinked Jaden and told him I was going to hang out with friends tomorrow. He told me to take Chris with me for protection. I laughed and said,
"You know I don't need protection."
"And you know I will worry if you don't take a guard with you and since you already know Chris he is going with you."
"Fine. He can go with me. But don't get mad if we come home a little late. And don't freak out. If anything happens I know he will mindlink you"
"Fine, fine. Just be careful." I shut the link off and sat back to relax. But I couldn't relax. I went to his old room and unlocked the door with the key he had given me. I walked inside and shut the door.
I wanted to find that letter. I looked under the mattress and pillows. Nothing was there. I looked all through the dresser drawers. Nothing. I looked under the carpet in the closet everywhere. This is strange. Why would she said I had another letter when I can't even find it. I leaned on the dresser and something tipped over. I looked inside a little wooden square that was hidden away inside the top of the dresser, now how did she do that without anyone even looking around? This is just all to nuts. but since i am here, i might as well look inside and see whats in there.
