CHAPTER THIRTEEN The son of the forest stood in one of the deeper tunnel systems he'd set up. He stood straight backed, his head tilted to the side, striking a dramatic pose in the mouth of the cave. He'd hollowed out most of the tunnel himself, venturing further from what had once been a survival bunker of some long-forgotten codger. The son of the forest kept his eyes closed, exhaling through his nostrils, feeling the thin gust of air moving through the tunnel behind him.
