Alissa's POV
"Finally" Denisse said as she stretched her arms beside me.
She just finished teaching the last lesson today for the kids and we're preparing to help them pack up to go home.
"Day's not over yet. Come on" I said.
We started helping the kids fix and pack their stuffs in their bags.
"Miss Ali" one kid came to me.
"Yes, bub?" I turned my attention towards her.
"Can you please help me with my bag?" she asked.
I nodded.
"Sure, bub. Let me just finish this real quickly, okay?" I said.
She nodded and I quickly finished helping the other kid before going to her.
"Miss Ali, can I tell you something?" she said as we were packing her things in her bag.
"Of course, bub. What is it?" I asked.
She looked around.
"I don't feel good" she said with a fear and a worried expression.
My brows furrowed a little and I held her.
"What do you mean? What's wrong, bub? Does something hurt?" I asked worried.
She hook her head then stared at the door.
"What is it---"
"CODE RED! CODE RED! ROGUES ARE INSIDE THE PACK TERRITORY!"
Denisse and I looked at each other wide eyed with the sudden announcement in our pack link.
Fck.
"Kids, change of plans. We need to hide" Denisse announced calmly.
We led the kids to a safe room and we grabbed blankets and a masking perfume to conceal the kid's locations.
We kept every pup in the room.
"Denisse, I'm needed outside to help with tge rogues. I'll send someone to help you with the kids but right now, the best way to keep them safe along with everyone else is if I'm out there fighting with everyone else" I said.
Denisse nodded.
"Please, for the love of the Goddess, don't get hurt, Alissa" she sais as she caught me arm.
I gave her an assuring smile.
"No promises but I'll try to come back alive" I said and left.
I went out of the kindergarten carefully and immediately smelled rogues all over the place even from a far distance.
I ran towards the direction of the sounds as I shifted into my wolf.
Adrenaline was pumping inside my whole body as I growled aggressively.
How dare they target my pack.
I reached the center of the pack and even before anyone knew where I came from, I dived into the fight with the others.
There were a lot of rogues.
More than I was able to count.
"Alissa, what are you doing here?! You're supposed to be at the kindergarten!" Griffin mind linked me.
"I'm needed here more. I'll be able to keep the kids safe here. Not there" I replied as a rogue lunged at me but I quickly intercepted it and clawed it stomach bringing it down.
"Don't get hurt" Griffin reminded in the link.
"No promises" I replied.
I continued to fight rogue after rogue bringing one down after the other.
But it seemed like their numbers weren't getting smaller after kill after kill.
"There are more rogues coming! They're coming in groups!" another patrol said in the link.
Oh ghad.
"We need to think of a plan to keep these rogues from coming. We won't be able to hold out much longer" the Alpha announced in the link.
Think, Alissa, think.
"Alpha, half of our men are already badly injured. If more rogues come, it will be the end for all of us" another member of the pack stated.
I closed my eyes for a brief moment.
Think.
Then it hit me as I opened my eyes.
"Griffin, cover me" I mind linked Griffin.
Griffin didn't ask questions as he came towards me and covered me.
We both ran towards the direction of Denisse and I's house.
"What's the plan?" Griffin asked through our link.
"We need backup" I replied
"What backup?" he asked.
"My backup. Now, stay outside and guard" I replied.
I burst into our house door in my room wolf form and came rolling on the floor in my human form.
I rushed to my bedroom and took out something from the bottom of my bed and got a box.
I opened it and saw my phone.
I quickly opened it and as soon as it's open, I prepared to dial the only number that I know.
"Alpha, I need permission to call for backup. Please" I connected to the Alpha through the pack link.
"Do what you must do, Alissa. For the pack" he replied.
I immediately dialed the number and after 2 rings, someone answered.
"Alissa, dear"
"Aunt Livi...help" I said.
There was silence from the other line.
"I'll be there soon with my men. Hold on"
The call was dropped and I rushed back outside and shifted midway.
"What happened?" Griffin asked through the link.
"Help is coming soon. But we need to out for a little bit longer" I replied.
Griffin gave a nod as we sprinted back to where everyone else was.
There were more rogues than before and I could smell more coming.
We were already down to half of our men and we can't afford to lose more.
I don't know how long help will take but I refuse to let my pack members suffer and die from this rogue attack.
With Griffin and I together, we eliminated a much rogues as we can while everyone else did their best as well.
A pair of rogues came at me and I jumped upward and landed behind them.
I bit the tail of one and swung it around to hit the other so they came tumbling to the trees.
I immediately sensed another behind me so I quickly stepped aside and then countered by clawing into its neck making it fall to the ground.
I used my claws and punctured it's heart to make the kill.
Then, suddenly I saw 5 rogues circling and growling at me.
"Alissa!"
I looked at Griffin's direction and he too was being ganged up on.
This is not good.
Aunt Livi, please hurry.
