“How much further, Ace?” I ask my best friend who is annoying the s*it out of me.
“Oh, come on man! I needed some type of communication since we have been on the road for about 2 days now.” He says with amusement.
I roll my eyes while scoffing. I don’t respond to him as I look over the file one more time. I am honestly trying to keep my anger at bay as I do not agree with the Elder Lycans sending us here. I think they need to leave alone the Lycans who have left, but what do I know.
Maximus(my wolf): I am getting antsy. (My wolf growls as he starts to pace back and forth in my head.
Me: You need to calm down as I am already mad and you are not making it any better. What has gotten into you as you have been like this all damn week.
Maximus: I cannot be certain. Just something is about to happen.
Me: Like what? What could possibly happen? (I scoff)
Maximus: Like I said, I cannot be certain. (My wolf growls out)
Me: Okay, Okay. Just lay down or something as you are hurting my head.
Maximus: Fine.
My wolf then cuts off the link as he retreats to the back of my mind. I close my eyes as I bring my hands up to rest my fingers on my temples. I slowly rub circles on my temple as my wolf has got my head hurting. My peacefulness is soon ruined as Ace opens up his mouth.
“Dude, come on. We are about to pull in.”
I sigh as I drop my hands and open up my eyes. I look out the window impressed as they have the pack guarded off with tall walls almost resembling a gate. Well, I think those walls are only on the front as this pack runs for miles. I soon let that thought drift as Ace turns left and soon we are coming up huge gates. From the moment we pulled up to the gate, two men came out and stood on either end of the car while two others stood on the back end of the car, as well. I watch as one of the men starts to walk up to our car and Ace rolls his window down.
“Are you the two Lycans wolves?” The man asked before we could say anything.
Ace nods. “Yes we are.”
I watch as the man's eyes glaze over for a second before he takes a step back from the side of the car. He lifts his hand up and I watch as the other three men walk off while the gate opens up. Ace just looks at me and I nod to let him know that he can continue. Ace then looks forward as he drives off through the gates and down the long road. The road is lined with huge trees as it blinds you from seeing anything from outside the gate. I smirk, smart.
Maximus: It is very smart. There is something here on this pack land, but I am unsure of what it is.
Me: Well thanks for that.
Maximus: Oh shut up. (my wolf growls out)
“That is smart of them.” Ace comments.
“Yes, it is smart. Especially since there are a number of fighters within those trees.” I add.
“Yeah, I could sense them too.”
After about 5 minutes of driving, we soon pull up to where the trees are gone. The pack house is huge as it is long within length and I am pretty sure it is also wide. I can also see that the pack house is meant to hide the actual pack as you cannot see anything on the sides of the packhouse or behind it. Impressive. Ace continues to drive down the drivewayoad until it goes in a big circle that goes right before the entrance of the pack house. I soon see two men standing at the entrance who I recognize as Alpha Axel and his mate. Ace stops right before the front door and puts the car in park before shutting it off. I climb out of the car first as Ace follows behind me. I wait by my door until Ace walks around to stand right next to me. We then walk up to the both of them together.
I hold out my hand. “Alpha Axel. Alpha Forrest.” I say with respect in my voice as they both shake my hand. “This is Ace, my right-hand man when I am sent to packs.” I say while Ace extends his hand out and they all shake. I feel the wind blow as it causes some leaves to blow into the entryway of the packhouse.
Soon Alpha Axel is turning his attention to me. “And you are?”
“My name is…”
“MATE!” I hear someone growl out causing me to snap my gaze to that voice...
