Gabriel is currently engrossed in studying the laws written in their books. He has gone through them countless times and has already committed some of the laws to memory. These laws pertain to the creatures residing in Avria. However, specific laws solely apply to werewolves and vampires, while witches and wizards are exempted. Perhaps this is because witches and wizards can live outside Avria or because they played a significant role in establishing the majority of the Kingdom. Being highly experienced creatures, they possess extensive knowledge of spells. Despite their immense power, they willingly choose to serve the Werewolves.
"How many times have you read that book this week?" Aida suddenly appeared, bringing him a cup of tea.
"If you don't mind, I would like to be alone right now, Aida," he responded coldly.
"I understand. Here's your tea," she said, placing it on the table. "Take your time." Aida then left.
Gabriel continued reading, his eyes fixed on the text, but his mind was preoccupied with the events of the previous day. Gabriel may be strong and masculine, but his vulnerability lies in his parents. He doesn't deserve to be treated that way! Gabriel is furious! He works tirelessly every single day, yet it is never enough for his father!
"Ahh!" he shouted, throwing the book aside and his eyes turning into flames. His fingernails grew longer and sharper, and his skin darkened. Consumed by anger and disappointment, he yearned for bloodshed!
He attempted to calm himself, but it proved futile. He struggled to control his emotions, which were filled with hatred. Gabriel fully transformed into a werewolf, leaping out of his window and fleeing into the forest. It was a dark and cold night, and he desired to hunt and kill.
He stumbled upon a deer and swiftly attacked it. Seizing the creature's neck with his razor-sharp fangs, he swiftly ended its life. The sensation of his fangs piercing the deer's flesh allowed him to taste its blood. Later, Gabriel discovered that the deer was carrying a precious life within her. As a werewolf, he still experienced emotions akin to those of a human. Overwhelmed with guilt, he released the deer's lifeless body to the ground. Gabriel couldn't help but recall the love and support he had received from his mother. Even though deer were a part of their diet, Gabriel felt an immense burden of guilt. Slowly, he began to transform back into his human form. He cautiously reached out to touch the deep wound on the deer's neck, closing his eyes as he felt the pain.
"This is not the path I wished to tread. I do not desire to kill out of anger."
Suddenly, Gabriel sensed a movement from the deer. Withdrawing his hand from the wound, he witnessed it slowly healing. Astonished, he couldn't believe that he had managed to heal the deer. The creature stood up and fled. After numerous attempts and practice, he had finally succeeded! It was his compassion that had triggered his healing abilities.
Returning to the palace, Gabriel felt a sense of euphoria. He had finally learned to harness his powers. However, he decided to keep them hidden for now. When the time was right, he would reveal his newfound abilities to his father.
On the other side, Vanessa Miller had just finished consuming her share of human blood. Her father, being the owner of a private blood bank, made it convenient for them to satisfy their thirst. They even supplied blood to other vampires.
"Another gathering?" her mother asked.
"As always," Vanessa replied with a wink. Since the day she was born, she knew she was different from humans. Her mother, being half vampire and half witch, possessed the ability to bear a child. Pure vampires, due to their desiccated bodies and unique diet, were unable to conceive.
"I trust you, my dear, but please limit your nocturnal activities."
"Mom, relax. I am 24 years old. I can handle everything-"
"Except for your thirst," her mother interrupted.
"That's why I just drank blood. Mom, don't worry, nothing will happen. Just let me explore everything. I know we can be together for many years, even millions of days. Just allow me to become independent. Sooner or later, I will start my own family."
"You always have a way with words," her mother, Luisa, said as she kissed Vanessa on the neck. "Just be cautious."
"I will, Mom," Vanessa reassured her mother with a kiss in return.
Vanessa headed to her room to put on her newly purchased party dress. She exudes a sense of effortless beauty in her khaki camisole dress. After getting ready for another night of partying, she called her friend Alexie, who was already prepared. She planned to pick up Alexie and take her to the club, then drop her off at her house. Unfortunately, her friend was grounded due to their previous night's escapades. They had been caught by Alexie's guardian, who promptly reported them to her friend's father. Although they met as high school students, they have since graduated and are now free to do as they please. However, Vanessa's friend Alexie is an exception. Unlike Vanessa, Alexie is more independent and has stricter parents.
After a few minutes of driving, she spotted her friend standing beneath a large, dark tree far from Alexie's house. Her friend quickly ran towards the car and got inside.
"Oh my gosh, friend! What took you so long? I've been waiting for you forever," Alexie exclaimed, trying to catch her breath.
"I wish you had just gone ahead without me, you know," she replied, driving away.
"Yeah, but you know I couldn't do that. Why are my parents so strict? It's so annoying!" Alexie expressed her frustration. However, Vanessa couldn't help but laugh at her friend's bitchy attitude. From the moment they became friends, Alexie was taken aback by the icy coldness of her friend's touch. Concerned, Alexie even offered her water and medicine, assuming she was unwell. It became a humorous memory that they both cherished.
"Oh my gosh, why are you so quiet?" Alexie confusingly asked.
"It's nothing, I just can't picture myself living your life. Having strict parents who keep me grounded at home is suffocating," she replied.
"Yeah, I understand. I have to abide by their rules for now because I don't have my own money. If my mother or father were to pass away, I would be the sole heir and inherit our family business," Alexie explained, laughing.
"You're such a crazy person, we've arrived," Vanessa said as she opened the car door and stepped out. They took a moment to compose themselves before entering the club.
