*Jake’s POV*

When Astrid jumped in the car and demand, we get out of here; I looked at her with a mixture of shock and worry. Uh, Astrid, are you okay? Astrid Sighs “yes, and no, my mother has been sending me on dates all week. She won't respect my wishes to get to know you, Jake, and I'm sorry, but I don't see you as a potential husband; I see you more like a brother! But can we still get out of here? I don't want to lead you on?!” I chuckle. It's ok, we can go, and I see you more like a sister, so don't stress, Astrid. She looks over at me and smiles. I start to drive off and notice a large number of guards coming after us. I look to Astrid, uh, we have company. Astrid looks behind us and groans, “they will get tired and go back in, I hope!” and she puts her head in her hands. I chuckle, ok, I'll lose them to be safe.

Astrid smiles. “Thank you, Jake. Are you sure you still want to do this even after I admitted I don't see you like that?” I laugh. It's all good, Astrid. I have so much planned for you, and I know you have to be back before eight pm. Astrid sighs “I don't know if I want to go back tonight is more about my mother than me she will be announcing that I will be married to whoever she chooses because I don't get a say in who I marry” Astrid shakes her head and wipes away tears then seems to realise her wings are still out Astrid in buckles her seat belt and begins to Start putting them away I hold out my hand no you don't have to hide them Astrid where we are going you do not need to hide who you are! Astrid looks at me, and I Frown you don't need the contact’s either; Astrid, I promise you we are only Meeting Maximus and His Fathers best friend Dekker! Astrid looks at me “so we are meeting two Dragons?” yes, Astrid, you are meeting my best friend Maximus, and Dekker Astrid smiles “well, now I'm excited I was excited to meet one dragon, but you have made my birthday very special by allowing me to meet two.” I laugh. Oh, we have a lot planned for you since you have never met a dragon; Maximus and I have designed for you to have a fabulous day, and it's about to begin. We will be meeting Maximus and Dekker soon. We have a lunch planned and a few other activities. Both Maximus and Dekker have agreed to answer all of your questions and concerns because they want to know everything about you also, they have only heard stories of you but have never had the pleasure of meeting you and let's be honest, your mother never let the world see you, so I'm assuming you all are curious about one another Astrid smiles “Thank you, Jake, how can I ever make this up to you?”I wink at her.

Well, be my friend, and we can call it even! When we get around the bend, I see Maximus and Dekker come into view. I Look to Astrid, who begins to fidget in her seat. Are you ok, Astrid? She looks at me.” I don't know Jake. I feel weird. Can you stop the car?” I look at her. Are you sure? Astrid Nods I stop the car, and in a flash, she unbuckles her seat belt and gets out of the car and runs to Maximus and climbs him like a tree he seems to have the same reaction to her I walk to Dekker and look at him he is smiling at them what are you smiling for Dekker? “Well, Jake, it Seems young Maximus and Astrid are mates” I look at him. Well, that was unexpected!

*Maximus POV*

I could feel her getting closer, and when the car stopped, I was frightened. Astrid wanted to get Jake to turn around and get away from here, but when she jumped out and ran towards me, then jumped into my arms, and our mouths crashed together, I understood what was going on Astrid is my Mate. I didn't hesitate. I held her up and kissed her with as much want and need I could give. When she pulled away and rested her forehead on mine, I heard her whisper the word Mate. I smiled and repeated what she said, yes mate, Astrid pulls away and Looks at my eyes, and I'm instantly captivated by her beautiful Violet eyes. She blushes and smiles uh” hi”, I chuckle hi, that was some greeting. I place Astrid on her feet, but I hold on to her. I extend my hand and shake Jakes. Thank you for getting her; Jake, now let's get our day started “sure thing, max but are you going to introduce Astrid to Dekker? I chuckle and look at Astrid. I'm Maximus. She smiles, then looks to Dekker and this is Dekker he is “my father”? Astrid says and gets out of my hold and goes to hug Dekker. He embraces her and takes in her scent Dragons can tell their children from the scent. He smiles at her. “Hello Astrid, my beautiful Daughter pleased to meet you finally” Astrid nuzzles Dekkers's neck and says, “Am I finally home? Is this why I felt like I was being called here?” Dekker pushes her back to take her in and runs his hands over her wings, and nods. He pulls her back in for an embrace and then looks to me, “welcomes them to the Family Maximus” Astrid turns to me, and I pull her in so I can hug her from behind. I whisper in her ear, are you ready, princess?

*Astrid’s POV*

I couldn't explain the feeling I had in the car, but the pull to Maximus is strong. Ingrid has been at the surface of my mind for the entire time I had to kiss Maximus, and when our lips touched all, Ingrid said was” Mate” when Maximus Repeated what I said, Ingrid purred and was at ease. It was like she was expecting something terrible to happen, then when I saw the man Dekker standing there, Ingrid said, “father.” I felt the need to hug him. I didn't stop to think he wouldn't hug me back; I went on instincts and hugged him when he said, “Daughter and pleased to meet you”. I felt like I was home, like my missing puzzle piece was found. I nuzzled his neck, and I know in my true heart of hearts that I am home. When Dekker ran his fingers over my wings and smiled, I felt a weird sensation, but it wasn't bad. It was like he approved of my wings, Then he made eye contact with me, and I stopped breathing. We have the same eyes. Maximus pulls me to him and says, “let's get this day started. We don't have Astrid for long, and I want today to be perfect for my Mate” he kisses my cheek and leads me to the car, Dekker climbs in the front of the vehicle. Jake drives and Maximus, and I sit in the back. Jake chuckles. “are we still going for the banquet?” Maximus doesn't hesitate. He looks at me, smiles, and says, “yes.” I Look between all three men and yell out; I don't want to go back. I belong here, and Dekker, who is Ingrid she has been with me since my sixteenth birthday when I got my wings? Dekker looks back at me and smiles. “I will answer that question soon, Astrid, and please call me Dad, and you will go back tonight, but Maximus and I will be with you. I think it's time your mother and I had a little chat, and Maximus can declare to all the Fae that you are his Mate so all other suitors can leave you alone!” I smile. Thank you, Dad. I say the word to see how it feels coming out of my mouth; I would be honoured to have you all as my guests at my party. I snuggle into Maximus and wonder what plans they have all come up with for me today, and I hope all my questions will be answered!
