I had the best sleep ever last night. I woke up to a familiar scent and a familiar grip. I wiggled around trying to get out of it but that just made James pull me into his embrace even more.
"My love, where are you trying to go," he whispered.
"James, we have to deal with our witch problem, and then after I kill them all we can stay in bed forever."
"Mmm, sounds like a plan," he kissed my cheek and we both got up. "Watch out for the broken glass."
"Yeah, yeah, have someone clean this up and get your mother to redecorate," I smiled.
"On it," James grabbed his phone and texted who I assume was his mother and maids. "Shower?"
"A quick one," I replied. He grinned and ran over to me. He threw me over his shoulder and carried me to the bathroom. We had another wonderful shower and got dressed so we could head downstairs.
Mason and the others were eating breakfast. Father Romero was outside alone.
"God, my head hurts. All that damn noise," Mason mocked.
"Ha, ha did you not use the earplugs?" I said.
"You thought they would help," he said.
"It doesn't block it out completely but numbs it a bit," I laughed.
"A bit," Mason said as he furrowed his brow. James was looking intently at Mason as he wrapped his arm around my waist.
"James, this is alpha Mason, Alpha Crawford, and alpha Ricardo," I said as I pointed to each one.
"Welcome, and thank you for keeping my wife safe," he said politely.
"It was our pleasure, anyone would be lucky to have a luna like her," Mason said as the other two nodded in agreement. James wanted to speak but I stopped him and said
"Men, now don't make me have to show you who I belong to," I joked. They all laughed and James smiled as he kissed me lightly. "After breakfast, I am going to go have a chat with our little friend in the basement, and then we can head to their home and slaughter the rest of them." James went over to grab a plate of food for me and him. We ate and chatted a bit more with the other alphas. It was a bit strange besides a few summits and get-togethers there has never been this many alphas in one place at a time. And usually, events are down off of any one's territory as to not create issues and tension. They are all alphas and their egos are HUGE. It is only natural for them to feel uneasy in the presence of another alpha and especially in someone else's territory.
It all seemingly went well though. So once I was done eating I headed down to the basement to have a chat with Julie. I wanted Father Romero to be with me when I did. James, of course, was close by as were the other alphas. I think they were just curious to hear the conversation. As we stood there face to face with the witch herself. The one who started this nightmare my hands began to tremble with anger. I wanted to rip her to pieces. Father Romero took my hand and I began to calm down. I knew somewhere behind me was James and his heart started to race.
"New arm candy," Julie said.
"I would shut up if I were you," I snapped at her. "I want to kill you we both know that but how long you live is completely up to you."
"I am not afraid of you or him," she said.
"Oh, so you know what he is," I said gesturing to Father Romero.
"Oh, of course, I do," she laughed.
"Look, we know your plan, and its over," I said. "I just wanted to clarify a few things but if you won't be civil then I will just kill you and end this now."
"You think this is over, THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING," Julie mocked. "You have just handed me the victory and I will make sure the first person I kill will be you."
We suddenly heard a crashing noise upstairs.
"Matt is upstairs, he will handle it," James said as I looked over at him. We heard it again and this time even louder. We heard a woman scream but I knew that voice, it was Claire.
"James, go, I'll be fine," James suddenly ran upstairs. We heard chanting and suddenly everything was turning black. I heard father Romero call out to me but it got lower and lower as my eyes began to get heavy and suddenly I collapsed.
"Aria," I heard a male voice say.
"Jack," is that you. We had sent Jack home after we knocked him out. "What are you doing? Where am I?
"It's okay, we are in a safe place," he said. I looked around and didn't see anything I recognized.
"Jack, I want to go home," I told him. He gave me a warm smile.
"Yes, we will and soon," he said softly. The door to the room we were in suddenly opened.
"How sweet," Julie said. "I wonder if you realize the irony yet or the real danger your in."
"Shut up, I will stop you," I told her.
"You can try but he won't let you," she said point to Jack. I looked back at Jack and he looked indifferent almost confused.
"You stupid b***h," I got up and yanked her by her hair. I was about to punch her but Jack came behind me and pulled me off. He almost did it kind of violently. "Jack."
"Aria, please don't hurt her," he said.
"What did you do to Jack," I shouted at her.
"He belongs to me now," Julie grinned. "Now it's time to have a real welcome party. I'll send Alpha Simon your regards."
"Whatever your plan is, I will stop it," I huffed.
"Aria, you should worry more about your situation then trying to stop me," she said as she left the room. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain on the side of my stomach.
"Jack, what did you do,"
