Alpha Mason

1103 Words
These past few days without James have been hard. I knew he was just as hurt and lost without me. I needed to keep him and my pack safe. We reached the closest alpha in the area. Alpha Mason was the alpha to the thunderbolt pack of the north. He had four factions under his control. They were the second largest pack in the world. I had only met him once but as a Luna and as the Luna of Silver wolf pack he had to meet with me. He must have been very intrigued about why I was here. He came to greet us himself along with his beta and six other men. "Well this is a surprise," he said with a smirk. "I must speak to you about a pressing matter Alpha," I told him. "Come on then," he said as he gave us permission to enter his territory. We drove back to his packhouse. He offered us some beer and Father Romero and I declined. "I hear you still don't have a mate," I said. "Are you offering to be mine," he snickered. "No, of course not, I have discovered a coven of witches who are seducing alphas to get them close so they can kill them," I explained. "And you think I can be tricked so easily," he questioned. "I am saying, they have already tricked Alpha Simon, of the winter storm pack." "I know who he is," Mason took a drink of his beer. "So did they also trick your alpha," he asked. "My husband was not tricked," I said sternly. "His brother however was and he may not be alpha but he is the son of one and has that blood in his veins. "So, these witches want alpha so they can be stronger," "Yes," I said. "They want to perform a ritual and eventually kill all of us." "You have a plan?" Mason asked. "Yes, I need your help and I need to warn as many alphas as I can," I told him. "They need five." "We will get the word out, discreetly of course, and my men are at your disposal." The look in his eyes was annoying but I knew I could trust him. "So, what's with the priest," he asked. "He's a friend," I told Mason. "He's going to help us kill those witches."  "You can stay here until we are ready for the assault," Mason said. We agreed and two of his men showed us to our rooms. We needed to find the other coven members before we charged into my land and killed those two whores. Alpha Mason said we would talk more about this at dinner. "Do you trust him?" Father Romero asked. "Yes, he is a wolf and we are all in this together now," I told him. My stomach started turning and I felt nauseous all of a sudden. "Are you okay? He asked. I nodded but headed to the bathroom anyways. I got washed up and ready for dinner. "You guys like your rooms?" Mason asked. "They're fine," I answered. "So what's the plan exactly." "Well, the witches think I'm dead so they might go after James too, but it won't be easy for them." "Okay, and?" "Well, we find the rest of the coven and take them out and then go back and kill those two whores that have my brother and Simon under their spell." "Sounds easy enough," Mason said. "It won't be," Father Romero interrupted. "They are smart and they have never been this close. I have stopped them before but no one knows how many are actually in their coven as they hide well. That is why this time we have to get all of them." "Okay, well we have the numbers so you find them and we will slaughter them," Mason added. I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my heart. "UGH!!" I cried out. "You okay?" Father Romero asked as he ran over to check on me. "I'm fine," I said but James he is suffering and in a lot of pain. "So, he knows your still alive," Mason said. "Well, yes I suppose, he still feels our bond," I said. "What?" Father Romero asked. "You have lived a long life and know a lot but how much do you know about mate bonds and wolves in general?" I asked him. "I guess not that much," he said. "I know the mate bonds are strong but do they not go weak with distance." "No, with the distance it just hurts and intensifies because your wolf is trying to find any little bit of trace it can of its mate," I said. "If Julie figures out that I am still alive she might change her plan or know a little about ours." "How so?" Mason asked. "Why wouldn't I just come home if I was still alive and knew nothing of a coven trying to kill me," I explained. "She will at least know I know about the coven and I would tell James and he would be so pissed he would go kill them." "Well, now what," Mason said. "He is going to keep feeling the bond and that will leave his hope of finding you." "I can help you," Father Romero said. "I can astral project you to him so you can warn him and tell him our plan." "If I tell James what were up to and where I am, he will come looking for me," I told him. "He won't want me to do this alone and the separation thus far has been driving him crazy so he will want to be near me." "Then?" Mason asked. "I can also help you break your mate bond," Father Romero said. My heart sank and I think I felt it break. "What!" I shouted. "It won't be permanent or real but real enough for him to think it is," He explained. "Can you really go through with this?" Mason asked. "I don't know," I said honestly. I wanted to end this right now. I wanted to run back home and kill those two bitches that did this to my family but I knew it was bigger than me and my family. I needed to do this for every wolf and any other creature that could be affected by this. If they have been doing this for centuries then they won't stop after just two of their coven members are killed. They will keep going and killing. We have to stop them once and for all, no matter what the cost.
