2 “So which one do you want to hear first?” Maeve asked them. The group sat in the parlor with the witch herself standing in front of the doorway. Avery stood beside her with his arms folded and a smirk on his lips. “You’re not going to like either of them,” Avery warned the group. “Then let’s have the bad news first and get it over with,” Jenny suggested. “The bad news is I know where one of those pieces is,” Maeve announced. Adam leaned against the wall beside the mantel and folded his arms over his chest. “Why is that bad news?” “Because I know where the piece is, and you’re not going to like it,” Maeve explained. Jenny wrinkled her nose. “So what’s the good news?” “That we know where the piece is,” Avery told her. Jenny’s jaw dropped to the floor before she started to rise
