Chapter 15 Vicious Women

“You are right. It wouldn’t be a bad thing to be more cautious. After all, even if he rent a house here, he still needed to pay a lot for that. I have an idea. Lora, you said he beat you, right? We can go to the police. I will go to get the video as evidence. With evidence, he can’t escape!” Edith was anxious after noticing that Lora hesitated.

Kelly was also eager to see what this would end. She uttered to support Edith. 

But hearing their words, Lora had more worries.

“Lora! What are you waiting for? We should take action right now! Lora, you are a member of the committee of the community. You are familiar with Mr. Wilder. Call him and go to get the video! Kelly, call your husband and ask him to send someone here. If that man acts rudely, we can directly send him to the police station. As for me…” Edith smiled at Lora and Kelly. “It all started because of the baby’s cries. They started it first. Well, we don’t need to be merciful. You know that I have a pet cat called Pepper. I had it sterilized yesterday. It is insane now. It even scratches me when I get close to it. When we go to find the man, I will take Pepper with me. What Edith said made Mrs. Hughes have chills. What a cruel woman! A baby! How could she even think about such things? Edith looked like a kind woman. How would she have such horrible ideas? Mrs. Hughes shook her head and sighed quietly. She couldn’t understand why these women would be so cold-blooded. All she could do was praying for the baby.

“How smart you are! Edith, I will call my husband right now! I am eager to see him begging for our forgiveness!” Kelly shouted excitedly and took out her phone.

Hearing Edith’s plan, Lora pursed her lips. Edith is so cruel. She couldn’t get pregnant. And she hates other women to have babies… She acts like she is helping me. I know it is just an excuse! She is insane! Well, that wouldn’t bother me. As long as I can take revenge, I will give the man compensation…

And then they started to take action. No one in the house noticed that the man who had watched Lora fight with Richard followed Lora and walked toward the manager’s office.

Being criticized by her new neighbor, Mary was rather upset. She was a smart woman. From Lora’s words, she could sense that her new neighbors might not welcome them. Moreover, many of them might despise them.

Meanwhile, it was the first time for Mary to notice the gap between wealthy people and ordinary people. But Richard and she never did anything wrong. They paid to live here. Why would others look down on them? Why? Because they were not locals? Because they rent the house instead of buying it?

Looking at Steven who was cradled by her, Mary wanted to cry. She felt it was unfair.

“Richard, is it a wrong choice to move into this house? We ordinary people can’t live in places like here, can we?”

“You silly girl. You don’t have to care that woman’s crazy words. You are much better than her. Relax, we can live here. I will protect you and no one can force us to leave.” Richard hugged Mary and closed his eyes. He wanted to kill that insane woman…

Lora upset Mary. That was unacceptable to Richard. In Richard’s eyes, Lora would die soon. Richard wasn’t insane. He wasn’t a killer. But after what he had gone through in the doomsday, Richard couldn’t help his thoughts of killing. Anyone who had survived in that disaster would act like him. Besides, Lora threatened to hurt his family. So, Lora was on Richard’s killing list now.

Unlike Jordan who would run away from him, Lora would live in the villa next to his house.

Three days later, the doomsday would arrive. If Lora could survive from the mysterious radiation, she would realize how precious food and medicine were like other survivors. Judging from her behaviors, Richard could tell that she might do the worst thing to get food.

Richard knew Lora would definitely gather all resources in her hands with support from her families. And as resources would be run out, all neighbors might be robbed by her. And at that time, Richard would be attacked too. Lora would rob everything from him at that time. Troubles and fights would flood in. That was not Richard wanted.

But how could he solve this problem? Kill her tonight? That was impossible. There wasn’t much time left. Richard couldn’t take any risks. If he was caught by the police, who would protect Mary and Steven?

Richard thought about what he could do now. And then he heard Mary answer a phone call.

“Yes, this is Mary. Ah, I remember you… Eleven O’clock. Room 301 in Union Castle beside Grand Square, okay, I get it. See you later!” Having ended the call, Mary took a deep breath. Her mind was occupied by the chorus. And she forgot that there was a student union party today. Luckily, Henry Pope called her. She still had time to prepare for the party. But Mary didn’t know if Richard would allow her to go to the party. After all, she hadn’t recovered yet.

Mary peered at Richard and found that Richard was looking at her.

Richard recalled something important. How can I forget the student union party! Three days later, the mysterious radiation would hit the globe and all creatures on the planet would be affected. At that time, those small mutant creatures like cats, dogs, and mouse might attack people. The student union party is a perfect chance to collect baits.
