Life Swap

I open my eyes to see Lizzy's foot right next to me face. I can't really see it though because Gina's hair is just everywhere. I can feel Kade lying across the bottom bit of my legs and I know Jacksons here somewhere because I can smell him. Where's Gavin? Wiggle out of Gina's grip to sit up right. I turn onto my knees and carefully pull my legs out from under Kade. I carefully walk across the bed and jump onto the floor. I pass a mirror on my way out to see I'm in a bikini that's not mine. I turn back to see Gina in my clothes, Lizzy in her clothes and Kades shorts over her skirt, Kade has nothing on and Jackson has no pants on. I walk out of the room with no recollection of how I got there. But it's a pretty BnB? House? Whatever it is it's pretty. The halls are decorated with pretty paintings. I head down the stairs to see the part area of The Love Shack. It's a mess. In the gorgeous light of day I see Bee standing in her kitchen with Gavin sitting across from her.

"Morning." I sit next to Gavin and lean my pounding head on his shoulder. Bee looks angry while she slides me a glass of water and some headache tablets. I take the tablets with a thank you. She then grabs 3 mugs and starts pouring coffee. She sets and empty cup infront of me.

"Thanks but I don't drink coffee." I smile at her. She rolls her eyes and takes her cup upstairs. Gavin sips happily while watching her walk away. Oh my, she's in his shirt from last night.

"What happened to you last night?" I ask while sipping my water.

"I found my gorgeous mate." He smirks.

"Bee is your mate? Congratulations Gavin. Please tell me she's coming to stay with us and you're not moving here." I start to panick. What will I do without sensible, reliable Gavin?

"Yes she is coming with us." He rolls his eyes at me.

"Thank God." I stand and open a box of pizza from the party last night. Seeing it's a plain margarita I grab the full box and my water and head outside. The sea is a bit more violent here but I like it. I sit on the sand with the waves washing over my feet while I eat. It's so pretty here. I can hear Bee coming out and she sits next to me to steal a piece of pizza.

"Let's go swimming." She says and walks into the crashing waves. I put everything down and follow her. The salty water washes over me. We float together in the spot just behind where the waves break. We just bob up and down.

"So you and Gavin. Honestly I'm surprised you want to leave all this." I break the silence between us.

"Me too but it feels right." She sighs in content at her decision.

"I wouldn't ever leave this place. I mean our territory is beautiful but it's nothing compared to this." I gesture to the land. "Maybe we should swap. You can go be Beta and I will run your club." She laughs at my remark and I can't help giggle myself. Another comfortable silence falls between us.

'Where are you?' My very angry dad links me.

'Far far away.' I link back cheekily.

'You had better not be in New York again.' He sounds angrier than before

'We are so much further away than New York.'

'I swear to god Katerina Iris Angelica Andreas-Finley…'

'We'll be back in about 20 hours. Just in time for my birthday. Promise.' I cut him off.

'20 hours? Where are you?' His anger has faded to curiosity.

'Mozambique.'

'Well then. Enjoy but be home before your birthday please. Be safe. Love you.'

'Love you too.' I cut off our link. And turn to Bee.

"We have to go." I say and duck under the water not wanting to have to face the rest of my life.

We make our way back to the house to get everyone ready to leave. It takes about 2 hours before everyone else is ready to go. We walk towards the plane and I glance over my shoulder at the care free paradise I'll be leaving behind. I look back at the paddy wagon taking me back to my own jail. I want that life, I just want to live first. I stop Gavin and Bee who are just infront of me in the cue.

"I'm not going back. I'll be back soon but I'm not ready to leave just yet. Bee do you mind if I stay?" I say quietly so no one else hears.

"Not at all. I'll link the Alpha and Luna. They'll stop by soon to welcome you." She beams at me with slight confusion.

"You can't stay. It's your birthday tomorrow. You can't shift for the first time alone. I can't just leave you." But I can tell he just says this to make sure I know what I'm doing.

"I will be just fine. Go. I'll see you soon." I hug both of them and stand back as Bee turns to get into the plane.

"You sure?" Gavin looks proud of me.

"I am so sure." I hug him tightly. "I am so happy for you Gav." I whisper into his ear.

"Love you Kit." He says as he walks up the steps and into the plane.

"Love you more." I wave as he gets in and they start taking off. Once the plane is a spec in the sky I turn towards the house and link my dad.

'I'm sorry dad but I stayed. I need to do this. I'll link you after I've shifted.'

'You what?' He shouts down the link. 'You had better get yourself onto that plane Katerina. I mean it.'

'The planes already gone. I'll see you in a few months.'

'MONTHS? You have responsibilities her. You can't just leave.' I can tell I'm in big trouble.

'Mom did. I remember when she did and when she came back she was a new person. You did too. I just need a moment. I love you and I promise I'll come back.'

'Fine.' I know he's defeated when I brought up him and mom doing the same thing. 'But link me often and right after you shift okay?'

'Okay. I will.' I cut the link and send Oliver a quick I'm sorry but cut the link before he can say anything.

I walk into the house and upstairs to what I assume is Bee's room. I knock before I go in. He room is stunning and elegantly decorated. I open her cupboard doors and grab a sarong to put over my costume. On her desk in the corner of her room is a landline with a sheet of phone numbers on it. I haven't used a landline in ages. I look down the list of numbers and phone the pack house phone.

"J speaking." A young women answers the phone.

"Hi. Can I please speak to Alpha Kendrick or Luna Misa please." I try be as polite as possible.

"One moment please."

"Thank you." I wait a few moments before a stong manly voice speaks.

"Alpha Kendrick here."

"Good morning Alpha. My name is Katerina and I'm staying at Brielle's house and she said she would talk to you about my stay but I thought it would be good if I got in contact with you personally." I wait to see what he already knows or wants me to say.

"Ah yes. Nina is it? Bee said you would be staying in her house for a while. She also said you were a Beta to be. My wife is excited to meet you. Let's have dinner yes? Someone will come collect you at 7 from Bee's house. Dress casually yes? Welcome to our pack."

"Thank you so much Alpha. I look forward to it."

"Please call me Kendrick. Feel free to explore today. If you would like I can send someone to show you around. How does 1 sound for someone to show you around. No that's too late. How's 11 yes? You can go into town and get lunch. Sounds like a plan. See you later Nina." He cuts the call off. Okay then. I look at the clock on Bee's table to see it's 10:30. I've got half an hour to clean up downstairs before my guide comes. I take a moment to look out the window and the beauty just at my fingertips. This is going to be an exiting adventure.
