Mates are special. They are the other half to your soul. The person you'll spend the rest of your life with. The person you meet after searching for and instantly fall in love with. The answer to some unknown question. The love of your life. Supposedly. I had the misfortune of the revealing of my mate when I was 14. I am the beta's daughter and my mate is the alpha's 3rd son, Oliver Finley. This wouldn't be so bad except for the fact that he is 2 years older than me and in high school that's a lot. Being a boy he shifted for the first time when he was 16, at the time I was 14. When he shifted it was revealed that we were mates. I couldn't be his mate. I was 14. He was ready though. He's always been ready. I just couldn't so I began avoiding him, my best friend, but that only lasted a few days before I couldn't anymore. He's amazing I just can't. Having diagnosed anxiety doesn't help the situation. Okay, just focus on filling out the form. Name: Katerina Surname: Anderson-Finley Age: 17 Height: 5'6 While I'm writing I catch Oliver's leg bouncing next to me. I place my hand firmly on his leg. "Can you stop. You're making me more nervous than I already am." I whisper to him. We are currently in the waiting room of my new psychologist. The old one wasn't working so we had to change. The new one is Dr. Rogues, a newly qualified pack mate. She specializes in anxiety disorders but I'm a rare case. Wolves don't get anxiety so for me to have it is very very rare. "Sorry sweets." Oliver reaches down to hold my hand that's on his leg. He's been driving me to my appointments since he got his license. He sits for an hour twice a week just to make sure I'm okay and drive me home, we always get ice cream on the way. Like I said, he's amazing. I turn my hand over and lace my fingers through his and start squeezing and releasing, one of my coping methods. He moves closer to me and takes the clip board and pen to fill everything in. I stare blankly at the wall and chew the inside of my cheek. "It's gonna be fine." He squeezes my hand and stands up to give the receptionist my forms. Before sitting down he kisses me on the forehead. He tucks me into his side I laces his fingers back through mine. How did a brat like me get so lucky.
