Chapter 9 Once the kids were buckled in like Fort Knox, Jax headed into town. Noah played with a toy truck that was in the car seat, and Travis looked ahead. “Your mom had a rough day, huh?” Jax glanced in the rearview mirror, catching Travis’ eyes. He shrugged. “She didn’t cry this time.” The thought of Kristen crying made him want to wrap her in a hug and assure her everything would be okay.
