The Alphas Beta

Chapter Two

"YOU HAVE A CAR!" Chloe screamed as I rolled down the window, I felt like James dean.

She rushed down towards me and her mouth fell open as she took in its beauty, like James bond I opened the door and stepped out. She drew her eyes up to me and I smiled, but her eyes changed and I laughed.

“What?" I said as I smirked, she ran up to me and slapped my arm.

She helped me train the pack members and new comers, so there was a bit if force in it.

"OW! What was that for?" I said as I rubbed my now red arm.

"Birthday slap. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" she yelled as she wrapped her arms around me, I laughed and hugged her back.

"I have your present up in my room... come on," she said as she dragged me through the pack house and to her bed room.

"Wait on the balcony, I’ll be right back, “she said as she ran to her closet and brought out a wrapped box.

"Chloe I thought I told you no presents,” I said as she handed me the box and sat next to me, she was clapping her hands in excitement

"Oh I know what you said I just didn't listen so... OPEN IT," she yelled which made me giggle a bit, but did as she said.

It was a scrapbook; she had put a lot of work into this. I smiled running my fingers over the picture on the front. It was taken a week after we met, pain had stayed in my heart since that day.

***The day we met***

'I leave you alone for two minutes and the wolves descend,'

I sighed as I sat in my seat eating my snacks; he’s sparkling like crystals in the moonlight which is a complete lie. But hey it’s a movie.

Being real though Vampires don’t sparkle, the only sparkling they do is when the sun sets them on fire, then to ash. I'm team Jacob of course, I'm a werewolf myself and our worse enemies are vampires, Witches and the hunters. Witches aren't really a threat to us, well my pack anyway we have an agreement with the Witches. We will not cross them and they will not cross us, we have to seek permission to enter their lands and the same goes for them. Vampires stay away or they will get killed. A werewolf bite is like acid to them, one bite and they burn up from the inside out. The movie had just finished so I made my way out and towards the woods, I made it to the woods and shifted into my wolf. Our coat was a blanket of grey with streaks of silver throughout, our eyes a pure bright gold. Even though I'm not an Alpha I'm pretty fast for a Beta wolf.

It would only take me fifteen minutes to get home if I was at full speed, but I just jogged. I did not fear the darkness, or what comes with it. I loved being out at night, my mother would forbid it but she couldn’t cage me in for long. I took over my father’s job at training the pack so he could focus of helping our Alpha with other things. It was meant to be Sam’s job but he left for a few years, with our future Alpha who I know nothing about. I stopped in my tracks when I smelt blood.

'Vampire’s,' Leah growled.

‘Their close' I said as I sniffed the air, I step forward as I heard a howl in the distance.

‘WOLF... OMEGA PROTECT NOW!' Leah growled as I took in a sprint.

I got to a clearing and saw a small brown wolf being attacked by three Vampires, I growled at them as they turned to see me and lunged at me. I caught one of them by the throat and bit down, it went to claw at me but I snapped its neck and it went limp. A woman jumped onto me and I went tumbling to the ground, I snap at her with my canines and connected them with her shoulder. She pulled back and screams in pain as my venom spread through her body, like bolts of lightning veins popped up through the skin and she began to choke on her own blood. Her skin began to melt off her bones, she screamed and flakes of ash were all that was left.

The last Vampire had the Omega cornered against a cliff; the Omega had fear in its eyes. I ran at the Vampire and bit his neck causing him to jerk backwards, it lunged at me but I clawed at its neck be heading it. My wolf had calmed down now that they were all dead, and the Omega had shifted back into its human form. She stood looking at me; I shifted back and walked towards her.

“Please don't hurt me," she said as she jumped back and put her hands out shaking.

She was scared, terrified at what just happened… But more of me.

“I’m not going to hurt you I want to help you, what’s your name?" I asked and smiled at her.

"Chloe smith," she said as she lowered her hands.

“I’m Rosella Blackwood," I said as I came forward towards her.

"Where is your pack?" I said as I stood in front of her.

“Their dead... They were killed by Witches along with my parents and brother. I- I have no one," she said as she put her head in her hands.

I wanted to help her; I wanted her to be safe. I gently took her hands away from her face, revealing a girl who had deep blue eyes and beautiful pale skin. She looked at me with questioning eyes.

"You have me," I said as I wrapped my arms around her, I felt her arms go around me and her head on my shoulder.

‘ROSE WHERE ARE YOU!' My dad’s voice boomed in my head making me flinch.

Chloe jerked back and looked at the ground.

"Chloe I'm sorry my dad just mind linked me causing me to flinch it wasn't your fault," I said as she raised her head and smiled at me, I smiled back.

‘Sorry dad, I just saved an Omegas life from Vampires... Can you meet me at the pack house?' I mind linked him.

I had to get the Alpha to accept Chloe into the pack, besides wolfs are stronger and safe with a pack.

'OK...be care full I don't want you getting hurt,' dad said.

'Dad I can take care of myself, I love you see you soon' and with that I walked up to Chloe and saw she was bleeding.

"Shit...Chloe we have to get you back to the pack house now, get on my back and don't let go," I said as she jumped on my back I shifted sprinting through the woods.

She wasn't heavy, she hadn't eaten for days. We got to the front of the pack house to where my dad and mum were standing; they looked worried once they saw Chloe bleeding. I shifted back and held Chloe around the waist.

“Dad she was bitten she needs help, we need to get her to the pack doctor,” dad had understanding in his eyes, he nodded and came forward.

A couple of the pack members came rushing out and looked at me then at Chloe.

"OK, James help me get her inside," dad said as James nodded and picked Chloe up.

James was one of my friends he helped me contain the other members in training; he was good at what he does and even a better friend. I watched as she was carried to the pack doctor, my mum came up to me and searched me for any sign of marks but didn't find anything. She smiled and wrapped her arms around me.

“Rose? You do no your naked right," she said as she pulled away.

I gazed down and sure enough she was right, I squealed covering my lady parts and ran as fast as I could towards the house.

~~~~ After getting changed and speaking to the Alpha~~~~~~

“How is she rick?" I asked worried for Chloe’s health and wellbeing.

Rick was the pack doctor, he was also a witch he didn’t like his own kind I never understood why, but I never pushed for him to tell me that was his business. He was really nice, I remember when I had an accident in training which lead to me having to get ten stiches and having to do three weeks of healing. He was the first one on the scene and because of him I didn’t need to be placed in a coma because of how bad it was. He was a friend to us and a loyal one at that, he also went to school with my parents and they helped him with the bullies, it’s kind of cute if you think about it.

"She is doing great, she's healing quickly and should be able to leave in the morning, “he said as he wrote down some notes on his clipboard.

Relief washed over me.

“What pack did she come from?" Rick asked as he looked down at me.

“I don't know... She told me that her pack was killed by witches along with her family," I said as he sighed and rubbed his temples before looking at Chloe with pity.

“It’s as if they are still living in the dark ages, most of them are corrupted by power, and they live as though they can take everything. That’s why I left my coven,” he said and I frowned but he just smiled at me.

“But don’t you miss your family? Friends?” I asked with curios eyes.

“No, my Mother died at birth and my father was killed days after by vampires, I can’t miss someone I never knew. I found out my parents were dark witches, they would have probably would have killed me in one of their satanic rituals. They did horrible things… Unforgiveable things. The wolves are my family and friends, I wouldn’t have it any other way,” he said and I smiled at him.

He walked over to Chloe and cheeked the bite.

"Well she’ll have a scar where she was bitten, I’ll give her something for the pain, ointment and wraps she must keep it clean or we might have a break out within the pack" Rick said as he took the bandage off and threw it in the bin then redressed it.

“Alpha Shane said that she has a place here, he is happy to have another wolf joining us and she’ll be helping me with the training," I said as I saw Chloe stir from her slumber.

She sat up and looked around the room, her eyes landed in me and she smiled.

“Rose? Where am I?” she asked as I walked over to her and hugged her.

“You’re new home," I said as she pulled me closer to her.

I knew then and there, was the start of a strong friendship.
