Mary POV (thinks it's January 2013)
I'm not sure what I'm doing at the hospital. This morning was so long and cold. That pompous jerk, Derrick, walked into me knocking all of my books out of my hand and onto the snow-covered ground. Ugggg, my textbooks are all dirty now. "Hey, sorry about that," he said. I just looked at him as I started to pick up my books. "You know I was so magnetized by your beauty that I was just drawn to you." He started to chuckle "Hehe good one." He was crouched over but the only thing he picked up was my business class text book. After I got my books and notebooks picked back up. I reached out my hand for my business book. Derrick pulled it back. "I'll give it to you if you go out with the most handsome guy in school." "Pretty sure that guy's already got a girlfriend." I responded. "Oh come on you know I'm good-looking. How about coffee?" "Look, I'm going to be late for class. Could I just have my textbook back." Not till you agree to go on a date with me?" "Seriously?" "Yea I want to drape you over my arm and show the city what a good couple we are." "Oh so we're a couple now?" "Well yea, just as soon as you agree to date me." The bell chimed it was 8 am I needed to get to class I had five minutes. "Ugg fine, Now give me my book back. I'm going to be late for class." "What's your number?" I rolled my eyes feeling it might have been better to just buy a new textbook at that point. I tried giving him the local Dunkin' Donuts, but he called it. F*ck. I tried reaching for my book as he was dialing "You're smart. Now how about your actual digits this time?" I tried to get away from him, but he kept blocking me. "Come on gorgeous. Just give me your digits. You know you and I would make a great couple with how gorgeous we both are." I rolled my eyes. "Fine, here's my number. I need to go give me my book back."
Once he was satisfied that he had the right number, he gave me my book. I tried to run off as I now had 3 minutes to get to class. If I sprint I can make it one time. I started running across campus. Sliding to the stairs in front of the building. I ran like my life depended on it. Getting to my class door, the teacher was walking to the door about to close it, signifying that if you're late it was too bad. I made it into the classroom just as he walked to the door. "Sorry I'm late sir". I quickly made my way to my desk. It was in front of this cute guy. Now, if he had asked me on a date, I totally would have said yes. I loved seeing him in class every day. He always had a smile on his face and always seemed happy to see me. Even though I sat in front of him, I was too shy to ever introduce myself, and he never did either.
I had 2 hours to kill after lunch, so I decided to hide out in the library. Finding a free table in the back, I spread out. I pulled my phone out to set a timer, so I didn't lose track of time, only to see 5 missed calls and 20 messages from Derrick ugggg. I regret not buying a new book. It would have saved me so much trouble. I didn't open the message app. I heard there was a way to see when someone has seen your messages. Just in case, I don't want him to know I saw but ignored. I set my timer and got to work.
At 2:45 my alarm went off. I picked up all of my belongings and headed to my economics class. I avoided the middle of the campus and stayed in the shadows. I pulled my hood up over my head and kept my head low, trying to be as unnoticeable as possible. I finally made it to my next class and sat at my desk. This was my last class of the day and I couldn't wait to get home.
By 5 I was free for the night. I lived only a mile away from campus, and at this point in the day it was already dark out. I didn't need to hide in the shadows as I walked home. I pulled out my homework and continued where I had left off in the library. I didn't need to pull out my phone to set the timer this time since I had no plans tonight. By 9 I was completely finished. Taking a fast shower, I wore my fleece kitty pattern pj pants, a tank top, and fluffy bunny slippers. I turned on the TV and flipped through till I found Pawn Stars on the history channel. I pulled my phone out of my purse and there were 15 more missed calls and 30 missed texts that all seemed to be from Derrick. I finally looked at the messages.

F*ck I didn't want him to come to my home. I looked at the 2 minutes. That's all I had before he went round the corner and saw I was still awake. I turned off my TV and lights. I went to my door and made sure it was locked. I turned down the light on my phone and I headed for my couch since that wouldn't make as much noise. As I was lying down, I heard the pounding on my door of someone knocking.
