Alina's pov The tip of his gun was inside my mouth and his devilish gaze was glaring into my terrified eyes. “Alina Ortiz” My name rolled down his sexy mouth. “I remember I clearly told you yesterday that we have to go to your father's factory for those herbs…but guess what?” “You were missing the whole day!” “Where were you, sweetheart?” Fear shrouded my eyes as he reminded me of our appointment. My mind was so occupied with Kian that it completely slipped out of my memory. “I hired you for Jude's treatment.” “Just because I'm being nice to you doesn't mean I’m not dangerous.” He slowly took out the gun from his mouth. *Cough *Cough “So-rry, Mr.Cross!” “Kian wanted to talk to me about…” “None of my business!” He cut my words in the middle. *Gulp My fingers were anxiously rubbing each other as his silver gun was still in his right hands' grip, scaring the sh*t out of my soul. “I always give everyone three chances, and you already lost one!” He pressed his gun against my navel. “Two more mistakes and you're going to see what I'm capable of.” “Yes, Mr.Cross!” My timid voice murmured. He slowly stepped back and put his gun back to his waist. His feet approached the door, yet stopped after a few steps. His head turned to me again… “What did you say to Kian?” Just a moment ago he said it was none of his business, but then asked me this question. “I rejected him!” My soft tone answered. He slightly rolled his lower lip and nodded his head as if my words impressed him. “Why did you ask?” My stupid thoughts wanted to know. “Kian is my brother!” His answer didn't give me any specific clarification, it was not at all related to the question. There were still some questions in his mysterious mind… “Are you his fated mate?” “No” I was chosen as a price for the Cruz family, we were never fated. He again nodded his head. His slow steps actually approached the door this time, he unlocked the knob and stepped out. *Deep breath “What's wrong with this family?” “Is there not a single sane person?” I was abused before, but never was threatened with a gun in my mouth. Mr.Cross was definitely not someone to mess with…Father was scared of him for some reason. What the hell was his real background?? *** Jayce’s pov My family had a lot of enemies since we were the strongest of all clans. Enemy clans would try every possible method to drag us down, and they once succeeded. We weren't three, but four brothers!! I had an older brother…Tristan Cruz. He was the first choice as the Alpha of BlueBlood clan. Father announced his crowning when we were just eight. Unfortunately, my brother was murdered a few days later in his bedroom. We didn't know who it was, but the throne was definitely the motive behind his murder. The Alpha's throne eventually passed down to me next. Father was scared the history might repeat itself, and so he sent me abroad with a fake identity. I grew up in Romania. It all started with a small loan business which later turned me into a businessman. I bought an old building at a low price and renovated it to my liking, dark and scary. Lights never impressed me, in fact, Colors disgusted my eyes. Jayce Cross became a huge name!! My deals always included d*ug lords, mafias, other businessmen, politicians, and rich people who faced loss in their company like Alina's father. As long as they paid me back on time…I never hurt them. Guns were my friends, but my hands never went as far as killing someone, my torture treatment was enough. For the first time in my life… I made a deal with a naive girl. She wanted to settle her father's debt with the most dangerous man in Romania. How ironic!! The guards didn't allow her to meet me, but the moment my gaze fell upon her sweet innocent face on the CCTV cameras…I immediately called one of those guards and commanded him to open the gates for her. My eyes noticed her from the stairs…she was anxious and nervous. Her long red hair was shining in the dim light and her gorgeous light brown eyes were glowing. She appeared to be no less than a beautiful goddess. I barely managed to look away from her. It was after a very long time…that my heartbeat raced for a woman. Daisy left me alone with Jude and ever since then I f*cked a lot of women, trying to comfort my broken heart and distract my mind from Daisy's memories. Love left my soul way long back!! It was just pure one night-stands…that always ended on a bad note. Women wanted relationships, and I wanted nothing more from them. None of those women could hold the power to race my heart again!! That's what I thought…until her cute little steps walked into my house. Alina Ortiz. If only Levi Ortiz had told me about his beautiful daughter, things would have been settled between us without threats. Her face was worth forgiving a debt. The way she stood courageously in front of me and spoke for her father…I was impressed, and turned on. No woman had ever done that before!! I wasn't sure about her skills as a nurse…nor did I trust her words that Jude will be able to walk again. Even the world's best doctor backed off. But to keep her closer… I played along!! Anything to keep her by my side. I was not sure what exactly I wanted from this woman…whether I wanted to break her or make her fall for me. In any case… I would never let any other man have her.
