Chapter 8-Opened Up

Yama “I’m sorry, haven’t realized it, just wanted to do it perfectly.” “It's okay you have done your best and I think you're doing great so far.” One thing she observes, Rox is serious and doesn’t talk much only if he needs something. Vera is right if I do this right, this is my gateway to success. “Do you drink? Do you want to have a drink with me?” Says Rox when he comes home after a few days of being away. “I am not used to drinking but I can drink with you.” The days she spent with him lightened the gap between them. ‘Let's unwind in the pool area. You can drink a little if you want.” Yama agrees and goes along with Rox. Yama was amazed when we got into the pool area. There’s a mini waterfall on the side, the pool is big, and lots of flowers surround it. The sound of water falling added the serenity that makes the place nice and relaxing. The landscapes are beautifully made plus the lighting added to the scenery. She hasn’t gone on this side since she came. She feels at peace in the area. “This is my favorite spot outside. I usually stay here to relax before going to bed.”Rox opens up while slowly drinking the wine. “I can't blame you, the place is refreshing. I feel like I was transported back to the province.” Yama responds while still busy looking around. “Can you tell me more about your family? How was it like living in the countryside?” Rox asks interestedly. “It's like this place, so calm and quiet. Around 6 in the evening, you can't see anyone outside. All are in their homes ready to bed or preparing something. The place is serene, our living is just simple, so laid-back.” She said smilingly upon reminiscing about her life back home. “How did you end up in the city?” Rox curiously asks. “Life in the province is hard, all work there is physically exhausting, hard labor and the earnings are so small. Most are farm work, with less opportunity. We woke up around 4 am and work started. We saw that our neighbors when came home for vacation they acted as if they were rich. They said plenty of work here and it would make our life better. We were ignited by the idea and worked our ash off here but the reality hit us differently. It’s not what expected. We had gone through a lot of hardships just to survive.” Yama opens it solemnly. She can’t forget what they have been through. “How were you able to pass it through?” Rox carefully asks her. He is interested to know her. “Just a matter of getting used to it and the power of our dreams. The thought that we have something to look forward fuels our desire to keep going.” “What are your dream?”Rox asks again. “All we want is to have a small business that could support us in small ways but that doesn’t happen,” Yama said in a slow voice, she felt sad upon remembering it all. “You are still young, you can do it as long as you're persistent and work hard. Just focus on the things that matter the most. One day you will understand why it happens and why life had to be that way." Focus on the bright side.” Rox's words uplift her spirit. Yeah, still not too late for her dreams to come into reality. “Do you want to try the wine while we are still here? It is not hard, it will help digest what we eat and help to have a good sleep later.” Rox offers her to lighten up the mood. “Wow, this is nice. It's my first time to drink a wine.” Yama likes the taste and keeps on drinking the wine. ‘How do you two meet, if you don’t mind me asking?” Rox wanted to know her more. “We are neighbors and we grow up together, our parents are best friends. I can say I knew him, that’s why I didn't expect he would do that. He isn’t like that. Maybe he was just caught in the worst situation and has changed because of the people surrounding him. Rox can tell Yama still loves her husband. He feels her pain. ‘How about you? What made you interested in me? Maybe one day, you will regret spending much because on me.” She meant it like a joke. “Why would I regret it?” Rox looks at her intently. “Because I see nothing special about me. I still can’t figure out why you do this.” “You don’t know your value. You are special.” Rox utters it lowly not intending Yama to hear it but she still does. “Maybe I didn't see my worth for now but all I know is I deserve to be respected.” Yama had already gotten brave because of the wine." Rox just smiled again. "We need this, talk everything out because sooner or later we will be working together as partners for a year. We will treat each other like true lovers. We'll show it to everyone and for ourselves. We will act on it in reality. Mind you, I don't set boundaries when I treat my woman. When I said you are mine, it means you are." Yama was suddenly nervous about what he said because she knew he would do it. "I want you to trust me because I wouldn’t do anything bad to you. I hope I can trust you as well coz I'll be sharing with you some of the important things in my life that I never showed or let anyone know. “ ‘You can count on me to do my best to fulfill the obligation you pass on to me. I hope you'll be patient with me because these are all new to me." She'll just think all of these are work and everything has its end. "No worries, you can hold me on that. Just be open to me and hope you will open your mind to everything as well. Be prepared to take responsibility and accept any possibility because we don't know what will happen in the future. This world is full of surprises." Everything he said was on Yama’s mind. "Just enjoy your training with Vera, she is good. She can help you out. You can use everything you learn from her. Don't pressure yourself but take it as if you are just experimenting and studying. And you will find yourself enjoying while doing it." Yama believes it as well coz now she is enjoying the training with Vera, unlike before. She is learning a lot. "What she will teach you are just the basics of everyday life in upper society. One day, it will be part of your life like normal. You're having a hard time because you are still digesting everything." Yama agrees with Rox's statement. "I can give you things that you can't imagine you'll have and soon you will understand why I'm doing it all for you. Just be open to me and be honest with your feelings because that's what made me like you." Yama thought that Rox was a deep man, everything he said had a sense. She enjoyed their conversation without noticing the time. This is the first time they're talking on a deeper level, opening up to each other and she likes what they have now. It's like normal. "Just don't forget that you can count on me whatever it is. You are now my responsibility and my priority." He said it clearly and gently. Yama stared at him. Why should she be his priority? She was just like other women or his employees. She was by his side because of work and will act according to his will. The character of Rox is a big puzzle for Yama. He had some actions that she didn't understand. She wanted to know a lot about him but didn't want to be involved deeper in his life. She knows where she stands and all are temporary.
