The Curvy Mate

(Some Backstory) Major Victor Cruz sat watching his kids and nephew play in the yard, trying to find some type of peace to make a choice. The world had taught him it had it's dark underbelly, but this time it was showing a whole new hand to deal with. A few days ago, he'd been briefed of a new type of being on this green earth. Werewolves, something he's always heard in horror stories or movies. He was conflicted because he'd received orders for a special mission, like in the past, it was to eliminate a threat. He was conflicted because the only reason the higher ups wanted this was because the wolves wanted nothing to do with them, they wanted to be left alone, to live in peace. The government wanted the strength, prowess, and power of these people in the army, but they couldn't force them. So now they were playing dirty and were sending a clear message. Cruz's fear was what would this mean for those he cared about, this felt like something karma was going to pay back. He couldn't bring himself to make that choice, and have it hurt his loved ones. "Dinner!" called his wife Elena, bringing him back to earth, "Amor, come and eat." "Coming." He stood up and waited for the kids to head in first. "Daddy, could we play cards after dinner?" "Sure." he answered his daughter, who was so round at ten, it was worrisome to him. The doctors saying it would go away with time, she was just a thick child. She ate at the time and hardly ever snacked, so it made it clear it was more genetic then natural cause. He loved his chubby little girl, he just hoped her health was never affected. They sat down to dinner and her brother teased her, taking her food and telling her that he needed it more then she did, Making Toni sad, Cruz scold his son he was older so should be nicer to his sister. After dinner true to his word, he sat down to play cards with the kids while, Elena washed dishes.After a few rounds, Elena was done and asked him to take the trash out and the kids to brush teeth and head to bed. Soon after his little sister Olivia, Liam's mother came back from work. She and Liam had always lived with them after her boyfriend walked out,Olivia raised Liam into a good young man, only months older then Cruz's son. "Come eat and you can tell me how your day went." "Thank you, El." the women went to the kitchen and Cruz went to take out the trash. As he walked he suddenly felt watched, all the time in the army had taught him to trust his gut, so he walked slowly and acting like he hadn't noticed, he had a sliver knife with him, he lit up a cigarette and waited. The night was calm he could catch anyone who was looking for a fight, it might even help him, he needed to let off some steam, but he waited in vain nothing came out to attack him. For a while he thought he had over reacted, until he heard the scream from inside the house, he ran straight in grabbing a gun he had in the coat closet, it was quiet, but he could sense it, and when he walked into the kitchen he confirmed it, his wife and sister in pools of blood and body parts on the floor. Without thinking he ran up stairs and he heard breaking sounds suddenly followed by screams, when he ran in his son like his mother, he lay dead and his little girl on the floor with a gash in her side, and his nephew crawling away from the beast that stood in the middle of the room. "Hey!" Cruz called and shot the thing in the back a few times, it got it's attention and it turned to look at Cruz, and like a human it gave him a wide grin, it's mouth covered with blood, it's yellow eyes burning into his soul. Then ran out toward the window and out into the night. Cruz called  911, his nephew and daughter were alive, but the rest of his family was gone. That night he made the choice, these things needed to be destroyed they had no place in this world. With anger and sadness fueling him, Cruz got his team ready, and made preparations. They located one of the beast's den, they'd start with the one and go for the others. They got things ready and headed out. Cruz looked at a picture of his family again, and was just more determined to bring these beasts down. In cover of the night he and his team headed to one of the places these beings were gathered, the house was big, and it was filled with laughter and music, it looked like a party, then Cruz saw the last thing these beings would have, children and women. They had cake and goody bags. "Waiting on your order sir." Cruz watched as the kids laughed and played, just like his kids had just a couple days ago. These beings were more then just beasts, they had families too. "Major?" He couldn't do the same thing to these people, he had forgotten not to forsake the rest because of one, like them humans had bad guys too. "Major!?" "Stand down." Cruz ordered, but it seemed like some else was listening in, because then he heard the order to shoot and the others started shooting, Cruz could hear the screams of the women and children, and it ripped through his soul. "Seize fire!" He ordered and they did, he quickly ran forward in the house, breaking the door in. there was a few dead on the floor both children and women. He walked in and found a woman in the corner, barely alive. "He knew you were coming, just not this soon." she having troubles breathing as she spoke, Cruz got down to her level. "You attacked first." "We just wanted peace, to be....to be left alone." Cruz walked closer, confused they had no silver in the bullet how did all these people die? As if reading his thoughts, the woman laughed. "Your ignorance is too much, we're...we're not all wolf." The truth of that slammed into Cruz, they had killed a bunch of innocent human women and children. "Major, we got to go they're ordering an air strike." He couldn't move what had they done. "Now you will bury the evidence of your soulless deeds." "Major!" "Go.. let them bury us." "Major!" the soldier shouted. "No, two wrongs don't make a right, this should've never happened, and I'm sorry." Cruz walked closer to the woman and took her hand. "What's your name?" "Ver...Veronica Gold." "Mrs. Gold I'm sorry." "Major!" shouted the soldier for the last time before he ran barely being missed by the missile, that destroyed the house, and all the people that lay dead with in. ( 12 Years Later) (Tonia's POV) "Toni come on you can't be like this all college life." "I can and  I will!" "It's not like you're going to be alone, we're all friends." "Yeah until you all find a guy and leave me alone." Missy had been my best friend sense high school, we went into the same thing, we were both getting our teaching degree. We'd just started collage three weeks ago, and the last two times I'd been out with them, I'd been the only one not going home with a guy. I was thick always have been, it wasn't a big deal in elementary and middle school but as soon as I hit high school, I really pushed myself to being in sports, I had stayed at a good weight all four years, but then. My cousin and my best guy friend found out his girlfriend was pregnant. Not a lot of people knew but my cousin was werewolf, I've known because I still remembered the attack that turned him, it was the night I lost my big brother, my mother, and my aunt. Only to be followed by my father's death two days later, he'd been on a mission, he was killed by them, or so the government told me. I didn't believe them. Liam begged his girlfriend not to abort his baby, she had found out what he was and wanted nothing to do with him after that, but she had the baby and was gone from both their lives. I had helped him raise her, I had become the only mother she knew. but right when I graduated from high school, she and Liam had been forced to live with the near by pack to our surprise they had accepted him and Katy, and had been living with them these past two years, I talked and video chatted with them, I missed her so much. My weight had gone up again, so I was thick not exactly fat, but men couldn't tell the difference and I mean collage guys were more into the skinny girls, so I was mostly left alone. Focused more on studying, and getting my degree. I had learned to accept myself as I was, not changing for anyone but for myself if needed. "Toni!" "NO! Now leave me alone!" "I guess the whole campus is going to see these bunny pajamas you STILL sleep in." "Missy!" I yelled, I knew she wouldn't do it but really I wasn't risking it. "Come on." "Fine!" "Yay!" "As soon as all of you leave me I'm coming back to the apartment!" "No, I promise I won't leave with anyone, no matter how hot he is." "Yeah, whatever." I went and changed into my most comfy but most nice clothes I had, put some makeup on, and did my hair. Once I got my shoes on we headed out to the bar the girls chose. We were having a good time, but soon guys started to file in. There were five of us, and after a half an hour of being there two of the girls had already split from the group, leaving three of us. "Well, I'm heading back to the apartment." "Don''t you dare woman." "Miss, no guy wants me around okay, and I'm fine with that, I have Ben and Jerry waiting back at the apartment." "Oh, my gosh, did you just see who walked in?" Sarah had a crop top on and was readjusting to get the full affect, of her boobs. We looked over and there in the corner table were three gorgeous men, almost unnaturally  gorgeous. I had never meet an other werewolf and none of my friends knew they existed, but I could see it, but of course I wasn't going to cry wolf not being sure. All three were tall, and somewhat thick with muscle, One was blond, the other two with dark brown and black hair. The blond one was looking right at Sarah, and the other was looking at Missy, the one in the middle was just sipping his drinking looking agitated. In my opinion he was the most gorgeous one of the three, he had black hair,  stubble facial hair, and light honey colored eyes. I kept my head down and drank my drink, when to our surprise the two got up and head toward our table. "Ladies, Miss Piggy."said the blond one, Sarah wasn't paying attention, she was drooling over the man, the other didn't even look in my direction. Soon Sarah was gone, and the other was trying to convince Missy to go get a drink with him, but she was fighting it, so I wasn't alone. "Missy, just go, I'll see ya later." "No, maybe..." "I'll keep her company." said a thick voice right next to me, Mr.Agitated had joined us. Missy looked at me and I just nodded, she said thank you and walked away from the table.Once she was out of sight, I grabbed my bag . "You're really in a hurry to leave?' "You don't have to pretend to want to talk to me, we can both just go our separate ways." He seemed taken aback by my words, but gave me a grin that made my heart skip a beat. "I actually did want to come over and talk, but if you want to go it's fine." Now I felt like a b***h. I sighed and looked around, but none of my friends were in sight, then sat down again. "What are you drinking?" "Um..red wine." "Cool, I'll be back." He went to grab us an other drink, when he came back, he sat a new wine in front of me, still red but different. I smelled it lightly and I could smell cherries and...chocolate. "You ordered me a Cabernet Sauvignon wine?" "A woman that knows wine, I'm impressed." I grinned and sipped it, it was so rich, but why would he get me a glass of wine that cost up to twenty dollars? We talked a bit about wine, then moved to what I was studying, and then he looked at me with serious eyes. "I"m sorry about my friends, they were raised in the wild." I laughed at that, but shook my head. "He's not the first and I'm sure not the last, but whatever." The man grinned and it made my heart race, why was I feeling like this, I barely knew the guy. I guess the wine was talking now. He leaned forward in his seat, and his hand grazed mine, and I felt a spark, like getting shocked but more...intimate. I took a few deep breaths.
