Noah I had never, not in my entire life felt as bad as I did standing next to my parents as they greeted guests on my behalf. How could I have a party? Any kind of party knowing the pain I had caused the love of my life? And I had caused her pain. I had seen it building on her face as I spoke. By trying to cause her less heartache and explain I had done the opposite. Why did I keep doing that? Why did every good thing I ever tried to do backfire on me in some way? And now I had no idea where she was or if she was coming back. “Relax son.” My father rumbled beside me. I could feel him side eyeing me.
