AVALON With my body leaning against the hood of the Mercedes, my peeper drifts between my phone and the road ahead. Ace should be here by now. My car is parked not too far from Ira's home, where he and his sister are awaiting my arrival. But I can't go in without Ace, and I have no logical explanation as to why. The only thing that comes to mind is that I am obsessed with him, and that really doesn't explain anything. Tanner had asked me six times now, why we don't just sit for Ace inside Ira's home? During those six times, I've answered with a false truth; it would be rude for Ace to just show up unannounced by himself. It makes more sense for me to be there with him. And that is true, in a way. Ugh. We are only ten minutes late for the birthday, I made sure to leave early just in case
