(Sadie's P.O.V.) Between traffic, pit stops to gas up and bathroom breaks we drove for nearly seventeen hours. Seventeen long grueling hours. That's how long it took us to get from Benate's cabins in the woods to Alaric and Cassandra's 'lair' in Death Valley, Nevada. The drive was beautiful, don't get me wrong. The mountainous landscapes leaving Washington made me miss home and stabbed at that tender spot whenever I was reminded that when I did finally come home my parents wouldn't be there to welcome me back.
