(Alaric P.O.V.) Cassandra decided to go all out this morning and made a breakfast of champions to help get the kids off on a good start for their trials which we had dubbed the witch's gauntlet. Texas French toast, scrambled eggs with roasted potatoes, sausage, bell pepper and zucchini and cheddar melted over it all. When the crisp bacon and a large fruit salad made it to the table I noticed the kids still hadn't come out. "They okay? It's normally chaos by now with everyone arguing to pass the bacon," I half joked. "They're cleaning up. They came in around sunrise.
