The following Monday Mark woke with a raging headache. Hoping it was just stress and not a prelude to getting sick, which would throw the whole photo shoot off schedule, he called the office at Phillips, Inc. Getting the receptionist, he asked to talk to Nate or if he wasn’t around, then the head photographer for the shoot. She put him through to the latter, saying Nate wouldn’t be in until two at the earliest.
After tendering his apologies to the photographer, who told him in no uncertain terms he was to rest, drink lots of liquids, and get better so he could be there the following morning, Mark hung up.
Sympathy with a dash of ‘Be here or else’. He found it amusing.
