¤Chapter 1¤
Walking into Hobs Café Eleanor smiled and greeted everyone around her. She ordered two blueberry muffins and a fruit juice. She took her order and choose a seat next to the window. She slurped on her drink a little bit before her eyes caught a sleek black car parking along the curb. A man got out from the passengers seat and opened the back door where another man had stepped out. That's when she put down her drink and stared at the man. He had blonde hair nearing brunnet, piercing blue eyes, pink plump lips, strong jaw and a nose to set off his face. He wore a navy blue suit that hugged his firm built body. He looked as if he'd been kissed by a million angels or his mother was lucky enough to have s*x with angels and create the master peace before her eyes. She watched as he spoke on the phone and the other man ordered for them. She watched him walked with the other man following behind him. They sat in the booth at the far corner away from everyone else but in her eye line. She watched him for a few more moments before looking away and getting out her phone so she didn't seem like some creep. She didn't want to come off like that even though she wanted to stare so bad. But it didn't stop her from glancing up every now and then. She was pulled out her thoughts when she felt a tug at her top. She turned around and looked down to see a little boy who wore raggedy torn clothes. He looked thin, fragile and hungry. "Hi there." She greeted with a small smile. "Sorry to bother you miss but my I please have some food? I'm really hungry but if you don't have any I understand." He asked her. Her heart melted as she looked at the boy before her. She couldn't help it. She couldn't say no to him. He was in need and she was definitely going to help him. Before she could respond one of the workers had marched over and grabbed him roughly. "I told you to never come back here kid." The man growled. "Hey!" Eleanor jumped up from her seat removing his grip from the little boys hand. "Don't dare grab him like that." "Look lady stay out of this." The worker seethed out seeming beyond annoyed and angry. "I will do no such thing." She shook her head. "This little boy did nothing-" "This little rat keeps coming back harassing my customers." "How dare you cut me off you pig." She said. "Where are your manners?" She looked at him in disapproval. "And don't call him a rat. He's only hungry and looking for food. Put yourself in his position and see how it's like being treated like a rat by people such as yourself." "I'm no pig." He seethed. "And this isn't any of your business since this is my store." "Oh really?" She challenged placing her hand on one hip. "I'm friends with the owner of this café and this is my business since this boy was talking to me not you." She pointed at him angrily. "I wonder what your boss will think of loosing a regular customer." As if the boss had sonic hearing he was already making his way out the office towards the scene at the sound of hearing loosing a regular customer. He had reached the scene which everyone hadn't missed one bit. Even the guy she'd been gawking at had his undivided attention ever since she began defending the little boy. "What's going on here?" Hob the owner of the café asked reaching him. "Hob." Eleanor smiled at him in which he returned. "Elley so nice to see you." He grinned at her. "What are you doing here so early? You're normally here around midday." "Today I wanted to get my muffins earlier." She told him. "But this man here grabbed this little boy here while we were talking." She said disappointed. "Then had the nerve to be rude and insult him." She continued. "You know how I hate terrible manners and terrible service." Hob's stomach had dropped at what he'd heard. There was a time where she was treated so awfully Eleanor hadn't come to the café for months and at the time she was the only regular they've ever had. She's been a regular ever since her first year here. "Tobias go wait in my office." Hobs said infuriated. "Bu-" "Now." He demanded. Tobias hung his head low before walking off and disappearing to the back. Hob faced them again with a smile. "Please Elley sit and is there anything I can get you? I'm terribly sorry for his behaviour. Anything you buy is on me." "Thanks for the offer Hob but I'd prefer to pay for everything." She gave him a small smile. "But you could get me the special with the fries and a fruit juice instead of coffee." She smiled. "Ok I'm righ on it." He told her before disappearing to the back. Eleanor turned around to see the boy still standing behind her. She gave him a smile. "Come sit with me." She offered. "I've ordered something for you to eat." She assured. She sat down and he sat across from her. "So what's your name?" She asked him. "Eddy." He replied. "What's yours?" He asked curiosity visible on his face. "Eleanor but you can call me Elley." She told him. "Do you have a home Eddy?" "No." He shook his head. "I can take you to a place where they'd take good care of you." "Really where?" He asked a sparkle visible in his eyes. "It's not too far from here." She told him. "Your order ma'am." This time a waitress stood in front of her. Eleanor gestured to the boy in front of her. The waitress placed the food in front of him. "Thank you." Both Eddy and Eleanor thanked her. The plate was filled fries, a bacon and cheese sandwich and a fruit juice. Eleanor smiled and gestured for Eddy to eat which he did with no hesitation. He eagerly took a bite one after the other leaving no room for air. Eleanor decided it would be best to let him eat, so she just left the questions to after he's done eating. She didn't want to disturb him nor did she have the desire to see him answer her with his mouthful. When they both began to finish off their fruit juices she took out her money and gestured for the waitress. She paid for everything before getting off her chair. "C'mon Eddy let me take you to your new home." ~¤~ "And you get to go to school." Eleanor finished listing everything he'd have when he stayed here. "Thank you very much Ms. Elley." He grinned taking the clothes that she'd picked out for him. "No problem." She gave him a bright smile. "When you're done getting dressed go downstairs to the dining hall to eat something and meet the other children who didn't go to school today, ok?" She told him. "Yes." He nodded before she walked out. Eleanor made her way down to the receptionists office. She grinned when Kyle her friend noticed her. "Hey girl." He greeted with a grin. "Hey guess what." She said eagerly. "You brought in a kid." He gestured to the paper work he was doing. "Yeah and..." She urged him to continue. "You got laid." He wiggled his eyebrows. "What? No." She shook her head. "I saw someone." She told him. "You're seeing someone and you didn't tell me." He exclaimed in disbelief playfully hitting her arm. "I'm not seeing someone." She rolled her eyes. "I actually saw someone as in saw the person." She explained. "Ooo...tell me more." He grinned walking towards the filing cabinet. "He's got blonde hair almost brunette, blue piercing eyes, pink plump lips, sharp jaw and a nose to set off his face." She sighed dreamily. "Did you get his digits?" He asked. "No." She shook her head. "Did you get a picture?" "No." "Was he with a girl?" "No" "Does he have a ring on his finger?" "I didn't check." "Ugh!" He groaned. "You are a complete lost cause!" "I'm not a lost cause the man is intimidating and he seems as if he holds a certain power." She said matter of factly. "Which means he's rich and he's great in bed now you'll never see him again." He shook his head. "Gee thanks for making me feel better about not making a move." "You're welcome."
