CHAPTER 2

In another faraway land, a boy is being birthed after an earthquake struck almost a year after Alexandria came.
The boy is born to a vampire father and a human mother. The vampire named Alfredo did not mention to the woman, Angela that he is a vampire. They had an affair and got married. Days after she got pregnant.
“I love you. Do you love me, too?”
“Yes, I do. I love you so much.”
“How much do you love me?”
Angela looked at him and asked
“Why are you asking me that?”
“How much do you love me?”
“So much.”
“Even if you would discover a secret that something is different in me?”
“Are you married?”
“No.”
“Do you have kids?”
“No.”
“Are you sick?”
“No either.”
“Then, what is wrong with you?”
“Please know that I love you so much and I would understand if you will not love me anymore and you would leave me.”
She looked worried at him as he knelt at her front and pleaded for her understanding. He bowed and kissed her hand.
“Angela, I fell in love with you when I saw you. I didn’t plan it I didn’t think of it. It just came and you felt it, too.”
The suspense is killing Angela and her face is full of anxiousness.
“Angela, I am a vampire”
Angela was shocked and she almost fainted. Then Alfredo sat beside her and the more she got scared and backed off a little which Alfredo understood.
“Are you going to bite me and drink my blood?”
“I don’t drink human blood. I just consume animal blood.”
Angela looked down with a sad face, looked at her midriff.
“What about our child?”
“I won’t harm you or the child in your womb. I will protect and care for you.”
“Will our marriage be a treat to my life?”
“Nobody has to know but us.”
“But.....”
“I came not from here but very far. I went away from our country so that they cannot find me and I can live my life normal and in silence.”
Angela looked at Alfredo.
“I am scared.”
“Don’t be. I won’t hurt you. If I wanted to, I could have hurt you long before.”
“What if others will know?”
“Nobody will know and nobody has to know.”
“What will our child be? How will it look like?”
“A beautiful child, a dhampyre. But we will give him the best normal life he can have.”
She looked at her hands that were shaking a little. She clasped both her hands to avoid fidgeting.
“Do you go out every night?”
“No.”
“What about sunlight, you have been under the sunlight? We went out several times and you seem not to be affected.”
Alfredo held her hands.
“When I became a toddler, there were times that I was burning whenever I go out under the sun. It seems I am going to die, but I trained myself at a young age. And my parents then told me that I am a dhampyre as well. Because I was half-vampire and half-human, I was able to conquer so many things.”
“And the child in my womb”
“He will most likely be able to carry on. We will teach him to be normal as possible and he doesn’t need to know what he is because we will treat him as a normal child, except for some fresh blood. We will see how many days he can last without.”
“Why me?”
“I was supposed to work, but then I saw you working in the place that I did some financial updates. You glowed while you were inside the building as if your skin was calling me and asking for my attention.”
“You wanted to drink my blood then?”
“No! I saw your face, your eyes, and your smile. It was love at first sight for me.”
“Why did you just tell me now after our wedding and now I am pregnant?”
“I am afraid to lose you. I know you can file for divorce because I lied to you and cheated on you. But I had to take the risk because I love you.”
“Will you promise not to hurt me and our child?”
“Yes, and I promise that I will protect you both.”
“Do I need to change like you?”
“No, my mom stayed as human, so will you.”
And they embraced and made little ve that night. Alfredo was careful not to hurt Angela.
Angela’s pregnancy came as normal. She visited the doctor for checkups and took vitamins as well. Because the dhampyre in her is more of a human, it doesn’t crave blood like how Alfredo’s mother needed to drink blood then. There were times Angela would faint because her blood pressure would go down. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions and experience to Angela but she took it as a challenge.
Seven months passed and it wasn’t time for her to go ve birth until two more months. But a strong earthquake stroke and it gave fear and stress to Angela. The fear and stress made her womb contract and she was eventually rushed to the hospital.
She then gave birth to a healthy bouncing baby boy, although he was premature. They named him Avalon because Angela would always crave apples.
“Avalon will be a great hunter, but he would also be a great owner of his field.”
Avalon has wavy hair and a fair complexion. He got his hair from his father, Alfredo. Alfredo is tall, stood smart every time, and can carry himself like a model. He has broad shoulders and long arms. His eyes were chinky and his nose was prominent.
Angela was tall as well, with fair skin and beautiful eyes that can capture whoever looks into her. Her body is like a model, slim and proportioned.
That day that Avalon came was the happiest time they ever had and they bought a new house they can call their own.
