"The only son of Alpha and Luna of the Silverton Pack" rings in my ears. Great. Another Alpha. I know the type. Powerful, cocky, strong and dominating. They're all the same. I have met a lot of Alphas in my life. I have not been a fan of a single one of them. They all think that men are the greatest thing walking on this planet. It feels like this is one big April fools joke. Almost like the moon goddess decided my life was not complicated enough so she added my mate into the mix. I suppose, I always wanted to be a leader, not the leaders partner. Someone who stands by him and supports him through his duties. No. I refuse. I will not be someones house wife. I am destined for much greater things. If he thinks I am going to do his cleaning and pop out his babies on his demand, he is very mistaken.
Despite the new information I just learned, I still want to go on the date. I have been jumping to conclusions for the last few days now and haven't given him a proper chance to show me what he is really like. So I am a little excited about this date. My inner wolf on the other hand, won't stop jumping around in excitement. She has way too much energy so before I get ready, I decide to go for a run and let her take control for a while.
"Mom, I'm going for a run, I won't be long!" I shout as I run down the stairs. "Okay honey, stay safe! And keep in contact in case something happens!" she calls from the living room. I roll my eyes. My parents are both very over protective of me. They think I am too adventurous for my type, and by 'my type' I mean being a girl. Little do they know I am better trained than their son and could probably beat him in a fight even if he was sober.
When I get outside, I feel the cool breeze hit my skin. I inhale deeply and close my eyes. "Okay, we have half an hour," I say to my wolf. I shift into my wolf form and immediately feel a release of tension. My fur is a washed out grey colour which complements my deep blue eyes. My human eyes and wolf eyes don't change much when I shift. It is quite common in wolves since they say 'eyes are the windows to our soul'.
I dig my claws into the ground to test the soil. It is very dry today. It hasn't rained in a few days. I'm about to get dirty from all the dust, but it's worth it. There is nothing more energizing and refreshing than a long run in wolf form. I waste no more time and dart towards the fields. Running through the town in wolf form would be a stupid idea because of the limited amount of space. Also, I don't want to be disturbed by any wolves so I chose the emptiest route, through the forest. There is a long trail which separates our land from the neighboring packs which is ideal for runs.
I run as fast as my paws can carry me, the faster I run, the better I feel. I don't think about my mate or anything that has happened within the last few days. I simply focus on the trail ahead of me and clear my mind. I lose track of time and before I know it, it's time for me to head back to the house to prepare for my date. I ran out too far so I am going to have less time to prepare as it will take me longer to get home, but it was worth it. I feel much more relaxed than I did an hour ago.

I watch the front drive from the window in my room. Six o'clock is approaching and Trey is not here yet. I wonder how he feels right now. Is he nervous or excited? I'm curious to see what his ideal first date idea is. I don't know anything about him so it's hard to guess where he will take me. My 'business casual' outfit is a knee length black pencil skirt paired with a white blouse and a black cardigan. I went more on the business side as it makes me feel more collected and confident. I am a business student after all! My hair is blonde and when curled, it reaches just below my shoulders. I opted for minimal make up. I don't wear make up often but I decided to put a little extra effort in to my look.
I check my watch and check the window a couple of times feeling a little more anxious as the minutes tick away and six approaches. Then suddenly, a car pulls up to the driveway. Except this time it isn't his usual silver Audi, he's driving a bright, wine red Range Rover. I squint my eyes to gt a better view of him the the drivers seat. He's wearing a black shirt with his top two buttons unbuttoned. His dark brown hair is spiked up, complementing his face shape. He has slight stubble growing on his sharp jawline, making him look a little more rugged.
I watch him pull the car up to my front door and shut the engine off. He started ahead of him for a second before a smile appears on his face. My heart skips a beat. His smile is so perfect. He rolls his neck as if he's a little uncomfortable. I wonder if his wolf is acting up as much as mine. He looks down at his hands and back up again. To my surprise he shifts his head in my direction and his piercing silver eyes look directly at me. It's almost like he knew I was watching him from my window. I quickly shut the blind and hide behind my wall. My heart is racing. This is going to be a night I will remember forever.
