ONCE HE REACHED THE cabin, he froze. He stared at the cabin and could not quite bring himself to go further towards it. He knew that he wanted her back and that he needed her back. Cole just had no idea how to get her to leave with him. Living without her and Mason, even for one night, had been unbearable. Still, the fundamental issues between them still existed. He was not sure what to say to convince her that their life together was the most important thing to him.
When he knew that he could delay no longer, he walked up and knocked tentatively on the door. When she opened it, he could see from the red around her eyes that she had been crying. Knowing that she was as affected by their separation as he was bolstered his confidence.
